GA had poh’s family garden in adelaide last episode. you can see it on the old forum/message board.

i liked the visit for three reasons

1. they pick lots of things unripe/green. green mango is one example. we pick small new potatoes, young carrots and others. so i think picking young/ green is a good thing.

2. the malayasian family have a suburban backyard with posts everywhere. trellises, teepees, climbing frames and posts on the corner of each bed to guide the hoses. a vertical garden = good.

3 poh’s dad – jimmy yeow – does the soil prep and says if you’ve got ‘fat worms’ you’ve got a garden. hehehe – go jimmy.

I enjoyed it too pepe. Everything in PNG is consumed underipe too, like mango, bananas, pawpaw. In last week’s episode of Poh she spoke of how in Malaysia she grew up eating these underipe fruits and saying that the tangyness and zing from the un-sweetened fruits and vegies is what they were after.

I daresay they ate/eat underipe food for the same reason the PNGeans do.

picking zucchini flowers is relatively new. very young broad beans are the go too.

I notice they’ve moved Poh’s television slot to a more “popular” time…

:( I really must watch iView more often…I love Poh’s shows but they’re either too early or clash with the vote of our resident majority…
