The mob are attacking white people, one guy had his hands hacked off.
Police have arrested a lone old man with a gun trying to defend his neighbourhood
Remember the illegal immigrant that attacked white babies and children in France two weeks ago.

Suppose it will be like the London riots after a week or so the mob will have nothing more to burn
They are not recent immigrants.
They are third and fourth generation French citizens (descendants of pro-French refugees from the post-colonial era troubles) who live in deprived areas on the outskirts of majors cities, who face long-term systematic racism and exclusion from the rest of society.

Never having spent any time there myself, i can’t comment.
I do know a lot of people who love the country, and the most frequent remark about the French is ‘don’t confuse Parisians with the rest of the French’. Apparently, most of the French can’t stand Parisians, either.
I do know that the French people i’ve met in New Caledonia are, for the most part, quite nice people and helpful to wandering Australians.
French representatives of various firms that i’ve met in other places also seemed to be of the general run of people, most pretty good, a few who you wouldn’t bother with.

:) I really did mean that they often revolt. ;)
French teenasgers rioting are just undergoing a right of passage as they transition to French adults who will protest over anything.

Sometimes i think that we could use just a bit of the French attitude here.

Considering the most prominent recent French protests have been about raising the price of diesel to meet climate change commitments and secondly the raising of the retirement age to the shock horror 65yo I think we have the more mature political culture.

Maybe Australia should take 1.5 million of these people so we could help them ?
What happens in the Atlantic basin is not our problem.
Remember before the immigration there were no riots in France? Wookie remembers.

I wouldn’t allow anyone with a degree anywhere near the levers of power.
The whole purpose of university was to train people for responsible positions – they no longer perform this function
The French government has made a mistake of not setting curfews , if you are out on the streets after sundown you WILL be arrested.
You just set up temp holding pens for 10,000 people and process from there. Anyone caught on the streets faces a mandatory fine / deportation if they are on a visa or illegal.

I would not allow anyone with a degree in classics near the levers of power. I’m happy enough for other disciplines to have a go.
You’d make the fine 10,000 dollars
Anyone seen carrying a gun/ knife/ weapon will be shot on sight – an emergency law giving the police carte Blanche is signed into existence for maybe the next two weeks.

Agree. I remember French riots in my youth.
I wonder what Wikipedia says.
“This is a list of incidents of civil unrest in France. Civil unrest can include, rioting, strikes, violent labor disputes, or minor insurrections. “
There have been riots in France in every century since the 13th century.
There were 24 separate periods of rioting in France in the 20th century.
