So many people are being accused of being communists. A friend of Mrs m recently called Albanese a communist.
Distinguishing between communist (people live in a commune) and socialist (government control of welfare). I came to wonder if there are any communists left in the world these days (well obviously but how many).
Lenin, Stalin and Mao were communists. After Mao died, China went capitalist and still is capitalist. Since Yeltsin, Russia has been capitalist/socialist rather than communist.
The much vaunted Comintern collapsed under Stalin. Because they hated what Stalin did.
There are still plenty of communist parties around the world, but they seem to be either powerless or socialist rather than communist.
What do you think? This is a brand new idea for me and I haven’t thought it through.
