Canberra Reptile Park

Worth a visit. The first surprise was a full sized saltwater crocodile called Charles. Indoors.

A piece of trivia. Saltwater crocodiles, being exothermic, grow much more slowly in southern climes than they do in the top end.

The highlight for me was being able to touch a shingle-back, diamond python and saltwater crocodile. The reptile park has a good selection of Australian reptiles. Australian only.

Sorry about the image quality, the snake was moving too fast to take a good snap.

Charles. Those teeth don’t look too fearsome.

Not Charles

They look a bit disgruntled. I hope they have enough room to play in.

Small enclosures. Nothing anywhere near their natural roaming range.
