Ready for Christmas here in Luckyland. Don’t even have to cook on the day, off out to see Mrs. B’s outlaws.
I think I can now sit back and start to unwind now……………… sewing is all done……. vegie garden is feeding us……. yep……I think I can slow down some now…….

Will the Ankle Biter be old enough to understand “spoiling” by then? lol!
Was just thinking about you today.
Have finally got motorised wheels, spent the day planning the menu as I planned to go Chopin tonight, but the rains have started again (Sonny Joe has just fininshed remowing the yard after some yelling from his Pa) so Sonny Jim is leaving his work car down the driveway and I don’t know if I can get into town tonight. Drat. Serves me right for not getting my menu ready sooner.
We leave for the Big Smoke tomorrow, well our regional big smoke, anyhow…my ham is at the butcher’s and the turkey is still in the freezer at woolworths…at least I hope they left me one…prawns ordered…I hope to have a full day at R on Friday in order to get the cooking out of the way, only breakfast will be cooked on Christmas day…we may be joined by one or two folk who are far from their families…so we will have to be well behaved for most of the day, won’t we?
Doing Secret Santas this year, everybody is happy with that…Santa is still expected to make deliveries but he’s suffering from a brian freeze right now…
So nope, not ready for Christmas…no ankle biters on the way either, thank goodness…

Yep so they can’t smell it – hot food is stuffed capsicum (without the mince).

Sonny Jim (sparky’s ‘prentice) is home already, “finished for the year”. Boss has bolted already so tradie and Sonny Jim finished off and here he is.
No chance of travel: the southern side of the Capricorn Highway is under water (good 6 inches) again, just around the bend on the western side of Charlevue Creek. This is a God-send, I need all this time to get ready for travel tomorrow, and the yonkers are helping Sonny Jim clean the kayaks ready for loading on the car, etc.
However most of my chopin is done, gawd turkeys are dear…nearly $60 for a very small one…I see where a lady has them in town (rural residential), might check it out with her next year…
Leg of ham collected. :) oh I do love a good quality ham at Christmas…(:

We did a big fruit and veg shop and gave downstairs a really good clean up. Eldest son’s mates will be sleeping down there and it was/is still a work site. At least now it’s clean and as dust free as we can make it.
The toilet and shower down there isn’t quite finished but they can use the upstairs one.
MrBL’s going up to the supermarket late tonight to buy some goodies for our Chrissy picnic. Goodness knows where we’ll go if it’s raining. It might be a picnic on the lounge floor. lol
All I need to do tomorrow is cook a turkey roll and undercoat a door.

Going gangbusters with excitement here. Mental as Anything on the CD player, burning “car copies” of CDs to take in the car, reading the catalogues of the post-Christmas sales :P and cracking into my new Sudoku book.
Nobody would go with me to the club that has “10 bands for 10 bucks” and I hate going alone.

Older Son has been indulging in weights, got him to buy me some but haven’t quite got a complete set yet. Got two chrome bars and 1.25 and 2.00 kg weights (black discs). Think he was checking out KMart and BigW. 3 of any size disc doesn’t help much :P

These are hand weights btw, not the big bar. He reckons having the ability to change discs gives more flexibility than buying pairs of weights that can’t be adjusted.
I thought if I had some weights tucked under the bed I might happen to use them sometime. Gym has limits.

Same. Not sure where the 3 black discs come in? I have some, the barbells with the interchangeable discs, but wuss that I am, they are just not comfortable. Might have a look at A-mart at the regional big smoke, the local sports store no longer carries them…

paint always is much brighter when first applied… you’ll warm to it. GF was looking at a magazine the other day and informed me that our dining room will become a new colour in the new year. She has chosen a green also.

I think this thread is well and truly hi-jacked, so I shall continue. 12.5mms so far outside this afternoon, which leaves me with only 20mms to get to go past 2100mm for the year!!! The ducks are splashing around, they love it. The vegetables are surviving quite well I may add.

I like colour and bathrooms lend themselves to quirkiness but I may have over done it a tad this time.
We’ll leave finish it and see what we think. The laundry and downstairs family room are going to be green as well but a softer green than the bathroom.
