The last of the shopping is done and I’ve put the first coat of colour on the new bathroom walls.

Oh Boy, is it ever green. LOL

It’s MUCH brighter than the sample pot seemed.

paint always is much brighter when first applied… you’ll warm to it. GF was looking at a magazine the other day and informed me that our dining room will become a new colour in the new year. She has chosen a green also.

I like colour and bathrooms lend themselves to quirkiness but I may have over done it a tad this time.

We’ll leave finish it and see what we think. The laundry and downstairs family room are going to be green as well but a softer green than the bathroom.

might depend on what colour the tiles, the vanity and the shower screen/curtain are?

Floor tiles are a dark textured charcoal, nearly but not quite black. Shower cubicle is mini orb gal and shower floor is little mosaic tiles in a black/ grey/ white marbled effect. A bit hard to explain really but I’m aiming for a rainforest meets outdoor dunny look. LOL

No curtain or screen and a HUGE old fashioned looking shower rose. Vanity and toilet are white. Vanity splashback will be white with a border of rainforest print tiles and I bought a big glazed tile with green tree frogs on it to hang on the wall.

it sounds like the green will work…. like I say, let it rest a while and I am sure you’ll grow to like it…

The gren doesn’t look anywhere near as deadly as in real life. The frog tile doesn’t have a white border, it’s just sitting in a foam box and the splash back tiles aren’t a border, I’d forgotten we decided on the little corner feature tiles instead.

The floor and shower tiles haven’t been cleaned up yet either.

Looks really snazzy to me. I like the idea of mini orb in the bathroom, and I love the teeny tiles on the bottom of the shower – I’d be interested in hearing how much trouble both surfaces are to clean :)

I reckon your feature tiles and green frog will look awesome in there.

Thanks Bon.

We were looking for something natural looking for the shower floor and nearly bought pebbles but MrBL spotted those going out really cheap and his inner miser took over. They actually suit quite well. The colours were chosen to not show the mould as much. lol
I saw the mini orb in a decorating mag years ago and liked it. It comes powder coated as well if you want colour.

I’ve got pebbles in my house inspiration scrapbook, but I do worry that the uneven surface would collect grottiness. The little tiles have the same look but maybe lower maintenance? But I still worry they’d need more scrubbing than big tiles.

Love the colours in your bathroom :)
