Ive been locked in to (next friday) a hi def camera up or down each end. I’m told I will be heavily sedated I know someone here would know the procedure. I need to calm down a tadge.

Ask them to do the throat end first, or at least use a different camera for the other end.

A colonoscopy? Go the children’s orange prep instead of what is offered.

Easiest procedure I’ve ever had.
I had one a couple years ago. It is basically as powerful as a general anaesthetic.
No pain or huge inconvenience, it’s just a bit tedious.

Agree.
You have to have lots of a special drink the night before and in the morning, that gives you the runs to clear your guts. Then lots of waiting at the hospital until they wheel you in to the op room where someone puts a mask over your nose, next thing you wake up in recovery room and then they give you a sandwich and tea/ juice

while I agree about the separate cameras
the only advice I can offer is to relax and enjoy it.
I convinced the doctor to turn the monitor so I could see
then other than the colour (pink instead of green)
This is pretty much what it looks like

Are you going to start your own PooTube channel?
Or an OnlyScans?
You reminded me of mr kii :(
When I was in Australia and he was in the USA he liked to send me the pictures from his colonoscopy. Sheesh he was nuts LOLOLOL

Well if they are doing both at the same time, they’ll definitely need two cameras.
What are they looking for? The pig in the middle?
Stay home the day before the procedure. Picoprep is my preferred bowel prep agent, both for myself and my patients. It doesn’t give me any nausea in the lead-up. Bowel prep for me is less aggressive than my IBS can be (it’s never made me pass out unlike IBS). Wear dark undies just in case.
You’ll be fully conscious until you’re wheeled into the room, then can be completely knocked out. I don’t remember anything from my multiple scopes. And don’t worry, they use a clean device for each end.
Bowel can be a bit sensitive for a day after the procedure so try to stay home in case of urgency. No discomfort afterwards though. You can eat and drink normally as soon as it’s done. You won’t be able to drive for 24 hours.
You’ll be fine. Even my very anxious mother coped (this is a woman who needs meds for MRIs, and for the first one she had a general anaesthetic).
Make sure you take everything they recommend for bowel prep. If the liquid coming out isn’t clear (like urine) they won’t be able to see all the bowel and will recommend repeating the procedure.

They gave me pico-lax and it was relatively easy on me. They told me: “If you wake up in a chair with a little blood in your undies, fear not because you are free to go home. If you wake up in a hospital bed, you won’t be going home yet”.

I agree
during my “guided tour”
I got to see every bit I’d missed
including every gas pocket (mini-farts) <-:
seriously
it ain’t no big deal
given my family history
(…as well as my own…)
I’ve been known to request an
occasional colonoscopy on my own
Pretty sure lemon myrtle is native.

Must be because there aren’t enough beds available?

Not only have I not woken in a chair, my patients haven’t either. I have experience with scopes at multiple facilities in two states. If it happens again, you should report them.

I’m stuck here because while making my cffee, I started putting thinigs away wwhile the jug booiled and because I was looking at the stuff I was moving I didn’t notice that my wrist was in right front of the steamy emission when the jug boiled, until of course a nanosecond afterwards when I said ouch. Now I’m resting it on a cold pack, a soft bean bag type.

Mine was back in 2006. We will have the new hospital finished before I get another because my poo samples are negative for bowel cancer and they are almost finished the new mutlistorey facility.

:) clear fluids only. was the advice I had.
I have had the procedure too. Nothing much to it, they knock you out, you wake up later in recovery.
The biggest PITA is arranging lifts and having someone stay with you for 24 hours after.

Thanks for all your advice you lot. I’ve never seen my blurter. However I’ve felt it in braile every time i have wiped it I doubt it would be a pretty sight.

Some of those lines start similarly to G&S songs and it’s a bit disconcerting because my brane expects them to continue thusly.

Sure is.
Make sure to provide us with a full report tomorrow.
Had it done not long ago, couple of months I think.
The prep is unpleasant, it really couldn’t be fun by its nature.
Get a canula put in your forearm and they knock you out via that.
Doesn’t hurt and don’t remember anything, its weird that missing time, anal probe by aliens all most.
Did we ever get a report?
