It is complicated.
Why do Amazonian people have some Australasian DNA?

I’d prefer not to sit through a YouTube. Is it about this research from 2015? Or is it more recent developments on that?

And 2022. Confirming the Australasian genes. And interestingly, “To further add to the existing complexity, we also detect greater Denisovan than Neanderthal ancestry in ancient Uruguay and Panama individuals.”

It raises the question of
is anyone reading my silly posts
in this case when I said hyper migrators
who’d left Africa via the Rift Valley and followed
the coast headed toward India and just kept going…
loading into the precursors on out-rigger canoes used to
island hop through the chains of islands and archipelagos
becoming what evolved into Maoris, Polynesians and so forth.

My point was

that I have no problem imagining these itchy-footed hyper migrators to
just keep going all the way to the coast of South America then Northward to
Mexico, Texas & beyond, eventually mixing with the itchy footed ex-Mongolians.

My joke (if you were paying attention) was “Why the hell they left Hawaii is beyond me”

I think the difficulty lies
in people viewing maps & charts
instead of good olde fashion globes.

At least for me, it’s easier when following
the curve of the globe representing the earth
to envision any possible route from A to B to C
