Subject: Dog breeds

I’ve been reading “complete dog breed” book from Dorling Kindersley. Recommending which dog breed is best for which purpose. Buffy has got it right with the pug. The easiest breed for training, lack of shedding, ease of coat care, personality with other dogs and children etc. In short, the best pet dog breed.

Apparently, not enough DNA information is available for mapping breed origins through interbreeding. But breed similarity has been mapped using DNA. As follows.

Dang it, image not uploading. Try again.

Worked that time.

Should be lots of background genetics for Pugs. They were bred in China a very, very long time ago. The Boxer, in contrast, is a late 19th century invention. (Because the Germans wanted to make the perfect dog? So I read somewhere years ago)
