my apologies Anne and trichome, I was a bit coarse last night. While I once knew how to play tennis and played to a similar standard that I played cricket, I find myself no longer able to enjoy watching a whole match. I think Pete Samprass killed it for me with his ruthlessness and that was carried on by the domination of the Fed-express postal service guy…

Give me a Bjorn Borg vs Jimmy Connors match anyday.

However I don’t mind watching the Williams sisters playbut can’t handle listening to the female (sooty) grunters.

Did our Lleyton win?

pipped at the post, Nalbandian took the last set 9 – 7 i think it was.
I think Nalbadian might be Hewitt’s greatest foe, I think Hewitt beat him last time.

ready for another greulling day of tennis ? :)

Morning PM. I didn’t take offence. Horses for Courses and all that. I am the odd one out in my family regarding cricket. Fortunately MrS doesn’t watch it all the time, and we both like the tennis, but even that we don’t always watch. In fact I missed most of the day sessions. I was playing outside wasn’t I, like a good little gardener :)

Anyway no, Llelyton didn’t win. It was a real see-sawing match and it was amazing how they good play the way they were for 4 and half hours….I’m stuffed just from watching them (and my body aches from gardening foray yesterday, especially my upper arms from using the whipper snipper. Might go back to letting MrS do that in future. LOL

Don’t know about you trichome, but I am a bit bleary eyed after that one. Would love to still be in bed sound asleep, but when Bubbly Girl’s Mum rang up to say that Bubbly Girl she wants to Skype with Nana (all of 2 mind you), then Nana just had to do it :)

I got over that fear once I realised that the times when mum said “you write the note and I’ll sign it” were a gift. Her signature was all I had to forge. Didn’t do it often, mind, just to get out of sport on Wednesday afternoons occasionally to go shopping – we lived out of town and mum and dad’s business was seven days a week. The price was that I had to “pay” my next sister a forged note for getting my school bag onto the bus for me (couldn’t take the globite school case shopping!).

I only wagged once. We had a beach carnival which was not dramatically far from my house (though it was a somewhat epic walk, at that age), and the teachers refused to let us sit/stand in the shade. Umm. A whole day in the sun, with this skin? Even with suncream and sensible clothing, NO FREAKING WAY. So my friends and I walked off.

Bartoli sounds soft to have been beaten by Li Na. Gasquet sounds like the David Gower of the tennis court!
