Socialists generally believe in free and fair elections. Like the opposite of US conservatives.

You don’t seem to know much about Venezuelan politics.

They have only counted 106% of the votes, so it could still go either way.

Me too, but I at least saw the footage of hundreds of boats crossing the river on election day full of workers trying to get home to vote after the bridges were closed to prevent them from doing so, or the police removing their uniforms to join the riots of the population who think the election was rigged?
The results have been recognised by Russia, North Korea, AND South Ossetia so I don’t see how they can be wrong.
“Get out and vote, just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.” – Nicolás Maduro

The current regime stems from populist Hugo Chavez who through terrible economic management transformed his country from possibly South America’s richest to its poorest with 25% of the citizens emigrating just to get by.

And I forgot to add that any card carrying leftist who thinks there is anything remotely admirable about Venezuelan politics this past 25 years is a moron of the highest order who is an embarrassment to social democracy in general.
Quite apart from the corruption and political repression, the economic management was terrible: poor investment in long term structural or infrastructure improvement. They had an opportunity for a wealth fund that would serve them for decades but they blew it on a short term high.
