Wheeeeeeeeew.. good thing I have managed to cut down – I used to be on 4 or 5 bananas a day. These days I average three, or two on a busy day.

I don’t like them ripe, but they come up well when sliced with hot porridge poured over the top…

love my (almost) green nanas but I guess until they drop in price I will wait. Surely no one believes the extra money goes to the producers??????
I feel sorry for the farmers of this country of all crops and would never want to be 1

g’day drylander. get any of that rain last night?

farmers markets are the go – i look forward to a steady growth in them until the s/marts finally have to admit their produce isn’t fresh. i had bananas in jamaica that were normally ripened – on the tree – and they have a fantastic taste.

tomatoes are rotting in the riverland areas. 50 cents a kilo is all the stupidmarkets will pay. They can’t harvest them at that price.

Wouldn’t worry about it now, Markets want to sell them for $10-15 starting Monday Pomolo.

I’ve got smoothies(if I feel like one once my spotty bananas are all gone) covered with a different bargain. Local Woolies must have had someone go through their freezers. They’ve got a few shelves of reduced lines, one of which is blueberries. I have bought a couple of kilos (in 300g bags) for $6 kilo. Each 300g bag was $1.80 so 1/3 bag or 60 cents for a real fruity treat with my porridge for a couple of weeks.

Woolies had their bananas at $5.99 kg, with a sign saying they’d put the price up “so soon” because they had paid their suppliers double for the bananas they already had in stock.
