From abc live:
Oh Patricio, what have you done?!
Australia’s captain looks to slog Jadeja over the off side, but doesn’t get all of this at all.
It’s taken really well by a running Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Jadeja once again provides the breakthrough for India in the morning session.
Cummins goes for 49 off 63 balls, and he’s thrown away what could’ve been a really big score, because he looked gooooood this morning.
It is a gross understatement to say that was needed for the tourists.
Mitchell Starc strides to the wicket. Do not expect this run rate to drop one bit.
Smith has gotten to his ton and suddenly decided his surname is Konstas, as he walks down the wicket and misses a wild slog attempt.
Siraj is so defeated that he doesn’t even bark at Smith, simply walks back to his mark with drooped shoulders.
Jadeja has three men out on the leg side to Starc, who is a notorious leg side slog sweep fiend.
True to form, Starc unfurls one, but it is a boring old single.
Steve Konstas gets on strike and decides he wants to lap sweep now (who is this man?).
FOUR! After missing the lap sweep, Smith decides for a conventional slog, and gets all of this. Reaches out from wide outside off stump to pull it away.
Another five runs off that Jadeja over.

He played the first innings on emotion. Once that wears off he is going to struggle. it will take time before he finds his place. I really think he is too young, just that there are few specialist openers going around right now at state level. The obvious choice got banned after the sandpaper affair and will never be allowed back, even though Smith and Warner returned as soon as available.

The commentators were saying earlier that the Australian side might be keen to throw a few balls at the Indians before stumps today, so perhaps the Australian tail end is not too concerned about enduring at the crease?
I just finished making two ‘beckets’ (handles), such as might be used on ye olde sea-chest.
I was trying out a couple of ideas on how to finish, site, and secure some knots.
Having answered those questions, the next topic that arose was ‘would anyone have a use for them?’.
So, i looked up ‘chest beckets’ on e-Bay.
Now, there’s not a vast number for sale on eBay, but there are some.
And, ye gods and little cats, their creators seem to value them highly.
Now, mine are undoubtedly not quite so precisely finished, but…blimey!

No team has chased down over 330 runs to win a test match at the MCG.
The highest successful run chase was England in 1928, they chased down 328.
records are made to be broken
Lyon bowled for 41 by Bumrah.
AUS: all out for 234
IND require 340 to win.

He can throw that red thing, that Bumrah.
Another ridiculous appeal/celebration from Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Starc tells him to cut it out.
“He f***ing missed it by that far,” he says, shaking his head with his hands a foot apart.
That Shaman needs to work on his ritual dancing.

Aye, it’s only a matter of time, any sign of rain to spoil things for Aus.
Biggest crowd for a test match at the MCG over the 5 days.

Well, Harsha Bhogle did earlier say something like ‘If India is two wickets down before lunch, the you can expect every Indian in Melbourne to arrive here’.

No, not yet.
Does anyone know of a direct link to the ABC Grandstand coverage of the cricket?
I’ve found a link, which goes via some outfit called ‘radio.net’, but i’m sure that the ABC must have a direct link for it.
I’ve hunted on the ABC website, and there’s teasing clues that they do have some link available, but, crikey, it seems to be bloody well hidden.

I was listening to it on the radio when coming back from the doctor a while back.

Could do that, but i’d rather have an internet feed, so that can use the Bluetooth headphones to listen.
OK, i’ve found it.

Don’t know why it seemed to elude me earlier.

“ABC Sport” on the ABC Listen App on your phone, Mr Spalding. I use it for the cricket via a Bluetooth speaker.
Aus needs 7 wickets in the final session, I think they will be shaking hands early.
