Well all right we wouldn’t know if this is it but we’dn’t be surprised if the antiinfectionists realised they could play the same game and use disinformation conspiracy theorist plays to change behaviour, as in tell a white lung lie to get the children to behave, call it an invisible odourless fog that the governments are allowing to poison everyone and the only way to protect yourself from the mind control is to wear a damn good mask

Does it matter why? This is it. How it happened is not the issue. How they fix it is.
I don’t smoke. Don’t drink. Eat healthy. Stay active. Had no indication that something was wrong until four fucking days ago. And the only solution is to crack my ribs open and stop my heart to try to repair. If they can’t repair they will put in a alien (probably) valve and it changes my life forever
I am so mired in stage two right now.

One on your chest and one were they take an artery.

Unusual Increase in Poliovirus Detections: Multiple Countries Event Summary: Since September 2024, circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 (cVDPV2) has been detected in wastewater samples in routine surveillance from multiple cities across Europe and in Melbourne, Australia. Further, a paralytic case of poliomyelitis (serotype 1) was reported in Israel on December 25, 2024, in an unvaccinated 17- year-old child, with further information not publicly available. These detections are highly unusual given the WHO European Region and Western Pacific Region achieved polio elimination in 2002 and 2000, respectively. Polio has been eliminated in the WHO Region of the Americas since 1994. However, in 2022, circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus was detected in Canadian wastewater, following multiple detections in the United Kingdom, Israel, and the United States. The sequence of these viruses were related, indicating they were connected by travelling infected persons. This highlights the risk of cVDPV2 importation. The recent signals serve as a reminder to stay vigilant for signs of polio even in elimination settings.

This reasonable suggestion of how people can protect themselves from hazardous particulate pollution has been met with much knee-jerk opposition to masks, and even to the very concept of the need clean air.
There are few anti-maskers in the comments who concede that masks can work for wood smoke, but then falsely claim but not for covid, not knowing that wood smoke pollution is actually smaller than covid-containing respiratory droplets, and is around the same size as bare virus particles. Fortunately, N95s are very efficient at filtering all of these sizes, and work even better the better the mask seals on your face.

Child deaths in England rising above pre-pandemic levels, study finds
Number surges after temporary decline during lockdowns, with rate higher for children from non-white backgrounds
Jamie Grierson
Fri 24 Jan 2025 06.00 AEDTChild deaths in England have risen to new levels after a temporary fall during the Covid-19 pandemic, a study has found.
The study, published in the PLOS Medicine journal, shows children were less likely to die between April 2020 and March 2021, a period when lockdowns were in place, than at any time before or since. There were 377 fewer deaths than expected from the previous 12-month period.
However, while the number of deaths in the following year, 2021-22, was similar to before the pandemic, in 2022-23, there were 258 more deaths than expected from 2020-21 period, researchers at the University of Bristol found using the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD).

Plasma proteomic evidence for increased β-amyloid pathology after SARS-CoV-2 infection
Previous studies have suggested that systemic viral infections may increase risks of dementia. Whether this holds true for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus infections is unknown. Determining this is important for anticipating the potential future incidence of dementia. To begin to do this, we measured plasma biomarkers linked to Alzheimer’s disease pathology in the UK Biobank before and after serology-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infections. SARS-CoV-2 infection was associated with biomarkers associated with β-amyloid pathology: reduced plasma Aβ42:Aβ40 ratio and, in more vulnerable participants, lower plasma Aβ42 and higher plasma pTau-181. The plasma biomarker changes were greater in participants who had been hospitalized with COVID-19 or had reported hypertension previously. We showed that the changes in biomarkers were linked to brain structural imaging patterns associated with Alzheimer’s disease, lower cognitive test scores and poorer overall health evaluations. Our data from this post hoc case–control matched study thus provide observational biomarker evidence that SARS-CoV-2 infection can be associated with greater brain β-amyloid pathology in older adults. While these results do not establish causality, they suggest that SARS-CoV-2 (and possibly other systemic inflammatory diseases) may increase the risk of future Alzheimer’s disease.

There are concerns though that the units, at about $6,000 each, may be too costly for small-scale beekeepers. “They’re made in Austria and they are a bit large so they are costly to bring to Australia,” Ms Martin said. The pair also acknowledged that large-scale producers may see the process of treating each brood frame as too time-consuming. Depending on the size of the unit, 10 to 20 frames are treated at a time for two hours. But Ms Martin said treatments currently available were also costing beekeepers. “Some of the treatments, you’re not supposed to have any honey and with many of the treatments you’re meant to throw out any frames that are tainted from the chemicals,” she said. “So when you count all of those costs, there are labour and costs involved with any varroa treatment.”

As students return to school amidst a seasonal influenza peak following the Lunar New Year holiday, many are donning masks to protect themselves.
Concerns about increased infection risks in schools have been echoed by parents.
Student Julien shared his personal protective measures: “I will wear masks and wash my hands after each class.”
His mother, Chow, is worried about the flu season’s timing, saying that the school has yet to send reminders about flu precautions.
The Standard Channel
More>>“That’s why I asked my son to wear masks,” she said.
Another parent, Li, said receiving a notice from the school advising parents to prepare for potential illness in their children during this flu season.
She remains confident in the school’s protective measures, saying that people are likely to be more vigilant post-pandemic.
The Department of Health recently reported around 240 severe cases and deaths linked to the flu since January, with 90 percent of those affected being patients aged 65 and older.
The department said that influenza entered its peak season starting February 5, primarily driven by the H1 virus.
Union Hospital Terre Haute sets up tent near ER as respiratory cases surge
By Chris Essex Feb 3, 2025 Updated Feb 3, 2025
TERRE HAUTE, Ind.(WTHI) – Respiratory illness is rising in the Wabash Valley, and one hospital is working to streamline the testing and treatment process. On Monday, Union Health said it set up its portable medical tent near Union Hospital Terre Haute’s emergency room. Health officials said the tent will be used to test or treat patients. Union Health advises people to visit a primary care provider or urgent care clinic instead of the emergency room if possible. Officials say you should go to the ER if you have severe symptoms, especially if the patient is high-risk or a child. Respiratory cases are surging in the Wabash Valley. Union Health says steps to avoid getting sick include wearing a mask and washing your hands often.

Inside the Bungled Bird Flu Response, Where Profits Collide With Public Health
When dairy cows in Texas began falling ill with H5N1, alarmed veterinarians expected a fierce response to contain an outbreak with pandemic-sparking potential. Then politics—and, critics say, a key agency’s mandate to protect dairy-industry revenues—intervened.
he US Department of Agriculture’s headquarters are situated on a tony stretch of DC real estate, a world away from the nation’s farms. So when something goes seriously wrong on America’s plains and pastures, something that could threaten animal safety or food production, USDA officials rely on rural veterinarians to sound the alarm.
Those vets report findings to state veterinarians, whose doors and inboxes are always open. They even post their cell phone numbers online. The state veterinarians, in turn, utilize a network of diagnostic laboratories approved by the USDA, chief among them the National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) in Ames, Iowa.
This close-knit network, with built-in redundancies, is primed to tackle the awful and unexpected, whether it’s foot-and-mouth disease, swine fever, or an act of agroterrorism. There’s little standing on ceremony, and state veterinarians generally feel free to reach out directly to leading USDA officials. “If we want information, we go up the chain to the top,” says Beth Thompson, South Dakota’s state veterinarian.
H5N1 Safety Guidelines for Individuals
H5N1 avian influenza is a highly infectious virus that affects wild birds, chickens, and other farm birds. In some cases, it has also been found in mammals, including humans. The virus has spread globally, but in the United States, cattle have been infected, and high levels of H5N1 have been detected in milk collected from farms in certain regions. Farmworkers, veterinarians, and other individuals have also been infected. This guidance is designed to help individuals reduce their risk of infection. While most recommendations apply globally, dairy-specific precautions are tailored to the U.S.
To protect yourself and your household, follow these essential precautions:
Outdoors: Avoid Birds and Contaminated Areas (Global)
Stay Away from Wild Birds and Droppings:
Avoid areas where wild birds congregate, such as parks, riverbanks, and lakes, to reduce exposure to droppings.
Handle Dead Birds Safely:
If you encounter sick or dead birds, wear gloves, masks and protective clothing. Report the situation to local wildlife or health authorities. Dispose of gloves and masks safely after use.
Protect Your Home:
Designate outdoor shoes and disinfect them before entering your home. Alternatively, take off shoes before entering to prevent contaminants from being brought indoors.
Safe Handling and Consumption of Food
Meat and Eggs (Global):
Keep raw poultry and eggs separate from other foods during preparation.
Use separate utensils and cutting boards for raw and cooked foods.
Cook poultry and meat to an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C).
Cook eggs until both the yolk and white are firm. Avoid consuming raw or undercooked eggs.
Dairy Products (U.S.):
Opt for Ultrapasteurized Milk:
Due to concerns about the potential survival of H5N1 virus with standard pasteurization, choose ultrapasteurized milk whenever possible. This method is highly effective at eliminating pathogens and is the safest option for dairy consumption in affected areas.
Standard Pasteurization (HTST) Milk:
Milk processed with standard pasteurization (high-temperature short-time, HTST) significantly reduces H5N1 concentrations but may not eliminate the virus entirely. HTST still carries a risk in areas where H5N1 is present. Whenever possible, prioritize ultrapasteurized milk or home pasteurization for added safety.
Home Pasteurization for Milk, Cream, and Other Dairy Products:
If ultrapasteurized milk is unavailable, perform home pasteurization to ensure safe dairy products: heat milk, cream, or other dairy products to above 165°F (74°C) and maintain this temperature for a few minutes, after it has reached this temperature. For a half-gallon of milk, the entire process, including heating and holding time, takes roughly 20 minutes.
Alternatively, heat milk in a pot until small bubbles form at the edges (just before boiling), then turn off the heat.
Avoid Unpasteurized Dairy Products:
Unpasteurized milk and dairy products, such as cream, butter, or cheese, pose the greatest risk of H5N1 contamination. Additionally, unpasteurized milk is associated with other risks, including bacterial infections like Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria. These products should be avoided entirely in areas with H5N1.
Handling Unpasteurized Dairy Products Carefully:
If unpasteurized dairy must be used, meticulous care is required. Home pasteurization must ensure the milk or cream reaches 165°F (74°C) and is held at this temperature for a few minutes. Take great care in handling and storage to minimize contamination risks.
Practice Good Hygiene (Global)
In addition to handling food safely, maintaining good hygiene is critical to reducing risk:
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling birds, eggs, meat, or contaminated surfaces.
Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are unavailable.
Stay Informed (Global)
Follow local updates on H5N1 outbreaks and public health guidance.
Consider getting the seasonal flu vaccine to reduce the risk of coinfection, which can complicate diagnosis and treatment.
By following these guidelines, you can reduce your risk of H5N1 exposure and help safeguard your health and your community.

Avian influenza has been detected at a fourth poultry farm at Euroa in Victoria’s north east. The new detection of H7N8 bird flu is linked to the ongoing outbreak at Kinross Farms, a major egg producer that supplies supermarkets. The development comes as egg supplies struggle to meet demand after Australia’s largest-ever avian influenza outbreak in 2024. Kinross Farms managing director Philip Szepe said the free-range farm has 90,000 birds that will be killed to control the spread of the disease at the company’s final egg-laying property in the region.

Bird flu shots now at risk, per Bloomberg:
—-
America is in the midst of a record-breaking bird flu outbreak that’s affected dozens of cattle herds along with poultry flocks nationwide. While human cases have been rare, the virus has caused deaths in the past, and experts are concerned it could become more transmissible and dangerous. Some recent developments do not bode well.
But on Wednesday, it was revealed that the Trump administration has decided to reevaluate a $590 million contract for bird flu shots the Biden administration awarded to Moderna, known for its highly successful Covid-19 shot. Moderna said last month it was gearing up for a big, final-stage trial of its new vaccine, having successfully completed an early-stage trial last year. But without funding, that trial may not happen.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now President Donald Trump’s top health official, has been a vaccine skeptic and openly criticized Covid-19 shots. In 2021, during the height of the pandemic, Kennedy called them “the deadliest vaccine ever made.” According to the US National Institutes of Health, which now answers to Kennedy, Covid vaccines saved tens of millions of lives during the pandemic.

communist New Zealand being all alarmist scaremonger again
Public health experts are urging the government to protect people from Long Covid, which they say could have already affected a quarter of a million New Zealanders. A new Public Health Communication Centre briefing out on Thursday says the government must develop and implement a Long Covid strategy. Massey University public health research Professor John Potter said the risk of Long Covid after an Omicron infection remained about 10 percent, and sufferers could be mildly impaired to severely disabled. The briefing also says Long Covid can also lead to a ‘substantially increased’ risk of sudden death and ‘silent’ damage to cells and organs which can lead to later illness. “Certainly the silent organ damage is a real problem, we think, for future development of disease. When you’re young and healthy, you can take a certain amount of damage to the system without it showing up.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intend to do a large study to examine a possible connection between autism and childhood vaccines, in spite of there being a substantial body of research showing that vaccines and autism are not linked. By revisiting debunked theories that connect autism to the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine, this could undermine the public’s confidence and lead to further vaccine hesitancy.
More than a quarter century ago, s small study by a (former) gastroenterologist Andrew Wakefield and colleagues suggested a link between the MMR vaccine —used to protect children from a variety of serious or potentially fatal diseases—and autism spectrum disorder, a condition related to abnormal brain development that causes problems in social interaction and communication.
Wakefield et al.’s paper in The Lancet described 12 children who had intestinal abnormalities after receiving the MMR vaccination. For eight of the 12 children, parents linked the onset of behavioral symptoms to the vaccine. Wakefield and co-authors hypothesized that intestinal inflammation after the MMR vaccine released gut proteins that eventually migrated to the brain, causing damage that was reflected in autism symptoms.
The study was reviewed further and retracted. It was a report of eight children who had developed signs and symptoms of autism within a month of receiving the MMR vaccine. With such a small sample and no control group there was no way of knowing whether autism was occurring at a level greater than would be expected by chance alone.
In addition to the retraction, Wakefield’s medical license was revoked due to falsified information.
Since then, numerous peer-reviewed studies have debunked a connection between autism and the MMR vaccine. A group of London-based researchers in 1999 found no epidemiological evidence for a causal association between autism and the MMR vaccine. And that conclusion has played out repeatedly in studies published in subsequent years. Perhaps the largest of its kind was a retrospective analysis that appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2002. It involved 537,000 Danish children and showed the risk of autism diagnosis was similar between those who received the MMR vaccine and those who did not. Additionally, the Journal of the American Medical Association published a study in 2015 that included an analysis of the health records of more than 95,000 children. Roughly 2,000 of those children were classified as at risk for autism because they had a sibling already diagnosed with autism. The study confirmed that the MMR vaccine did not increase the risk for autism spectrum disorder.
The existence of all this evidence raises the question why the CDC now wants to carry out another study. Asked for comment, the CDC did not immediately reply. But perhaps we can surmise why by assessing the views of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and the CDC director nominee, David Weldon, both of whom have repeatedly raised questions about the safety of MMR vaccines. If confirmed, Weldon would reinforce the vaccine-skeptic agenda that RFK Jr. is likely to pursue.
Weldon stirred controversy when he insinuated a link between the MMR shot and autism, citing the debunked theory put forward by Wakefield.
Such vaccine-skeptic views are a cause for concern in the public health community, the Guardian says. The messaging alone can fuel an uptick in childhood vaccine hesitancy. To illustrate, in the United Kingdom vaccinations took a considerable dip in the early 2000s after Wakefield’ false claims of a link between the MMR shot and autism were posted in the media.
Long after his work was exposed as fraudulent, Wakefield left a legacy of harm that persists even today, Vaccine hesitancy is rising again in the United States. Faltering vaccine coverage has contributed to the current outbreak in Texas and New Mexico.
Mass vaccination programs with single or combination shots began in the 1960s and quickly suppressed the spread of measles in most developed countries, including the U.S. which had declared measles eradicated in 2000. Moreover, the measles vaccine is “sterilizing,” which means it not only prevents illness, but also transmission. The World Health Organization estimates that worldwide immunization efforts targeting measles and other communicable diseases have saved at least 154 million lives over the past 50 years.
Ostensibly, Elon Musks’ Department of Government Efficiency aims to eliminate waste at agencies such as CDC. Cuts have already wreaked havoc at CDC and throughout other entities within HHS. Yet it would seem wasteful to have CDC spend money on a large study to prove something that has been demonstrated over and over again. Couldn’t these resources be used far more wisely elsewhere? Like, for instance, on studies to examine vaccine hesitancy and how to boost immunization coverage.

Next-generation, inhaled COVID-19 vaccine enters phase-2 clinical trial
Researchers at McMaster University have started a phase-2 clinical trial on a next-generation, inhaled COVID-19 vaccine.
The AeroVax study, supported by $8M in funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), will test needle-free vaccines developed to provide protection from SARS-CoV-2.
Led by Fiona Smaill and Zhou Xing, members of the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research (IIDR) at McMaster, the multi-centre trial will evaluate the new vaccine in a broad study group, while also confirming safety.
Findings from pre-clinical studies and the soon-to-be-published data from the phase-1 trial indicate that McMaster’s inhaled vaccine is more effective at inducing immune responses than traditional injected vaccines are, because it directly targets the lungs and upper airways — where the virus first enters the body.

The Trump administration is withdrawing the nomination of Dr. David Weldon, a former Florida congressman and anti-vaccine advocate, for director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The announcement came about an hour before Weldon was scheduled to testify Thursday before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. A person familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity told The Associated Press that the administration pulled Weldon’s nomination once it became clear that he did not have the votes to advance. The committee later cancelled the hearing. Axios first reported the trouble facing Weldon’s nomination.
During his time in Congress from 1995-2009, Weldon expressed unfounded concerns that a mercury-based preservative in vaccines called thimerosal might be linked to autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Repeated research and scientific study have found no evidence of a link between vaccines and autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders. Thimerosal was removed or reduced in most vaccines in the U.S. starting in 2001.

Early in my optometry career soft contact lens disinfecting solutions had thimerosal as a preservative. After some time it was worked out that it caused irritation to eyes and was replaced with other preservatives.

To holistically describe long-COVID symptoms and identify risk factors for post-infection neurocognitive and emotional problems, University of Regensburg researchers analyzed clinical data from COVID-19 survivors aged 12 to 17 years who had symptoms for at least 4 weeks. The average patient age was 12.5 years, 61.2% were girls, and the average interval from infection to examination was 5.7 months.
Most children had elevated levels of fatigue (82.4%), loss of motivation (72.9%), impaired concentration and attention (71.8%), and worsened mood (53%), and 31.8% reported more anxiety. The most common diagnoses were post-COVID adjustment disorder (38.8%) and post-COVID attention-deficit disorder (23.5%). Disturbances in attention and memory, drive and psychomotor activity, affect, circadian disturbances, and worries and compulsions were common. The psychopathological examination resulted in 83.5% of patients being rated as abnormal, therefore clearly surmounting the point prevalence of mental illness among children and adolescents (15%). Over half of the adolescents (54.2%) were strongly advised to undergo further psychiatric assessment, 30.2% were urged to undergo further diagnostic testing, and 12.5% were told to seek other help, such as psychotherapy, further somatic assessment, weight control, and specialized diagnostics for chronic fatigue syndrome or occupational therapy. Few (3.1%) received no recommendations. In total, 14.1% of participants received no psychiatric diagnosis, while 8.3% had a psychiatric diagnosis unrelated to COVID-19, and 56.5% had a confirmed and 21.1% had a suspected post-COVID psychiatric diagnosis, respectively.

I got an invitation to participate, but since I’ve had a significant respiratory illness within the past 12 months I’m ineligible.
Hi DA,
We have begun a clinical trial evaluating a potential new combination vaccine for respiratory illnesses.
If you are aged 18 to 49 years, are in good general health and do not have any significant medical conditions, you may be eligible to participate in the trial of investigational RSV/hMPV/PIV3 vaccines, and investigational influenza vaccines.
Respiratory illnesses such as influenza, RSV, hMPV, and PIV3 are highly contagious and peaking during colder months. Influenza can lead to fever, fatigue, and severe complications like pneumonia, requiring new vaccines annually to match evolving strains. RSV, hMPV, and PIV3 often impact children and older adults, causing breathing difficulties and, in severe cases, hospitalisations. While flu vaccines and a new RSV vaccine for adults over 60 are available, there are no vaccines for hMPV or PIV3, highlighting an important gap that clinical trials seek to address.
We are seeking applications from people who:
are aged between 18 and 49 years
are in good general health and do not have any significant medical conditions
have a body mass index (BMI) below 40
do not have a history of Influenza and/or RSV and/or hMPV and/or PIV3-associated illness, diagnosed in the last 12 months
can attend 5 visits within a period of 6 weeks at our Morayfield clinic in Moreton Bay and 1 phone call around 5 months after.

Human coronaviruses (HCoVs) include seven species: HCoV-229E, HCoV-NL63, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-HKU1, MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV-1, and SARS-CoV-2. The last three, classified as Betacoronaviruses, are highly transmissible and have caused severe pandemics. HCoV infections primarily affect the respiratory system, leading to symptoms such as dry cough, fever, and breath shortness, which can progress to acute respiratory failure and death. Beyond respiratory effects, increasing evidence links HCoVs to neurological dysfunction. However, distinguishing direct neural complications from preexisting disorders, particularly in the elderly, remains challenging. This study examines the association between HCoVs and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease, Lewy body dementia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. It also presents the long-term neurological effects of HCoV infections and their differential impact across age groups and sexes. A key aspect of this study is the investigation of the sequence and structural similarities between amyloidogenic and HCoV spike proteins, which can provide insights into potential neuropathomechanisms.

The Hidden Key to Addressing COVID and Cancer – Our Lymphocytes
A peripheral lymphopenia impacts on patient PFS and OS in many advanced solid tumors. In breast and ovarian carcinomas, NHL, DLBCL, T-cell lymphomas (PTCL, PTCLU), follicular lymphoma, sarcomas and colon carcinoma, a global (<1000/mm3) or severe (<700/mm3) lymphopenia detected before treatment, early after chemotherapy treatment (5 or 15 days) or after radiotherapy (RT) is associated with a worse PFS and OS. Other studies using different thresholds of lymphopenia from moderate (<1500/mm3) to severe (<600/mm3), report similar results in recurrent desmoid tumors, pancreatic tumors, renal cell carcinoma (RCC), diffuse large B cell lymphomas (DLBCL), Hodgkin’s disease, and HCC.
Today, I presented at the American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting Keynote and took the opportunity to address the doctors in the audience about the missing link that has impeded our war against cancer.
It was important for me to honestly and openly address that our standards of care harm the immune system and that we have developed so called pre-medications to address the harm we actually induce with high-dose chemotherapy, high dose radiation, steroids and even checkpoint inhibitors. I felt I needed to take this opportunity to reveal the blind spots that we have accepted for fifty years and to address dogma on behalf of the patients.
The slide deck is shared here
. The keynote went almost an hour and I will highlight in this X article the key points I wanted to make.
First, I needed to address exactly what is this “missing link”. It turns out to be the most important cells in our immune system that is needed to kill cancer and to clear our body of infection including cells infected with virus (such as COVID). These immune cells with which we are born, are the natural kills and T cells in our body designed to find and attack the cells that become cancerous or cells that are infected.
The video slide below shows how a natural killer cell (in red) attacks a breast cancer cell (in green) and rapidly kills (in blue) and since 1990, I became obsessed as to how to activate these cells in our body. They evolved over millions of years for a reason.
0:00 / 0:14
So clearly, these are important cells in our body. It would be crazy if we actually destroyed these cells with our treatment. That is exactly we have been doing for decades. Chemotherapy, radiation, steroids all destroy these cells, known as lymphocytes. There is a test in a standard complete blood count (CBC – a laboratory test that is less than $30
) in which the lymphocytes can be measured – called the Absolute Lymphocyte Count (ALC). Yet, when we discuss ALC with many doctors, a curious look appears since it is so unfamiliar to them.
Image
Win the battle… lose the war – Chemotherapy and CPI induced lymphopenia
The challenge now remains for us to completely re-educate the field, our patients and physicians including the regulatory authorities that lymphopenia matters and that it is possible to prolong the life of all patients with cancer by addressing lymphopenia. Meaning that regardless of the tumor type, if our lymphocytes are destroyed then the survival of patients with cancer are reduced. Incredibly, this knowledge of lymphopenia, shortening the life of patients with cancer has been known for years (C Ménétrier-Caux 2019
).For the lay audience, these authors have reported and reviewed data across multiple publications all showing that with a loss of lymphocytes (NK & T cells) at a level below 1,000 lymphocytes per microliter in the blood, progression of the cancer and the survival is significantly shortened.
Our findings demonstrate that lymphopenia is an independent prognostic factor for overall and progression-free survival in several cancers.
Image
Different published studies exploring the impact of the global lymphopenia or NK and T cell subsets on relapse-free survival (RFS) or overall survival (OS) in patients with solid tumors
As stated by Ray-Coquard et al., (Ray-Coquard 2010
), over 15 years agoPaper after paper report this phenomenon of lymphopenia and identify it merely as a poor prognostic predictive biomarker. This explains why practicing clinicians have largely ignored the measurement of Absolute Lymphocyte Count (ALC) as a missing link in managing a patient with cancer since no therapy existed until ANKTIVA was approved to address a low NK and T cell count. Now instead of merely being a prognostic biomarker, it has the potential to be a therapeutic biomarker guiding the treatment of patients with cancer and COVID.
radiotherapy temozolomide (TMZ) corticosteroids (steroids)
Just as in cancer, the negative phenomenon of immunosuppression and lymphopenia occurs with viral infections and COVID (Martinez-Urbistondo 2021 and Xiang 2021
).
Based on these well documented findings, it would be rational to ensure that our current standards of care protect the lymphocytes as much as possible to improve the survival of patients with cancer. Sadly, our standards of care do the opposite and this keynote was an opportunity for me to present this disturbing fact.
Image
Overcoming the barriers to the cure – Win the battle… lose the war.
The encouraging news I then shared with the audience that for the first time, a therapy exists to treat lymphopenia and demonstrate prolonged survival in bladder cancer and indeed discuss the same effect across multiple tumors such as in lung cancer (NSCLC) and pancreatic cancer.
To emphasize my point on how dangerous lymphopenia is, I discussed glioblastoma (brain tumors) which remains a disease with very poor prognosis – and that perhaps the reason for this intractable problem is that our standards of care for brain tumors have not changed for decades and involve:Remarkably, each of these therapies (radiotherapy, TMZ and steroids) are some of the most potent killers of lymphocytes. Little wonder that not much progress has been made in the treatment of brain tumors. We are now instituting clinical trials (QUILT-3.078
) to explore this next generation immunotherapy of lymphocyte stimulating agent to overcome the severe lymphopenia effect of current standards of care.
A disease that has eluded oncologists for decades is the treatment of pancreatic cancer. I have spent my career trying to solve the reason why patients with late-stage pancreatic cancer die within weeks. Paper after paper after paper now reveal that lymphopenia tied to immunosuppression is a key factor. The neutrophil-lymphocyte-ratio (NLR) will be a subject of a later X article.
Image
The double whammy against our immune system. A high neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) with the combination of high immunosuppression and low killing lymphocytes
Which brings us to the hope that we could win the battle and also win the war by having long-term duration of complete response. I provided the example of patients receiving ANKTIVA + BCG almost a decade ago and now still in complete remission for more than nine years.
Image
Nine year complete response in patients with bladder cancer – the power of the immune system.
To emphasize our choices, I provided a graphic on the “Quantum State” of the bladder depending on the choices made and the mechanism of action of the therapies.
Image
The Bladder’s Quantum State – The Immune Protected Healthy Bladder, The Immune Compromised Bladder, The Crippled Painful Bladder, The Lost Bladder
I was asked by the organizers of AUA to present my history of development of biologics and what inspired me. I shared in this keynote the honor and privilege of having met Pope Francis and the inspiration and strength he afforded me to continue this fight against dogma and follow the science. May he rest in peace. He was an inspiration to the world for empathy and kindness to the underprivileged, underserved and universal caring for all.

Finally, I left the audience of young doctors with the algorithm for a purposeful career and serving the best interests of patients.

Courage of your convictions…
Purposeful impactful innovation…The only interest to be considered is that of your patients

Researchers have estimated approximately 8% of Americas have ever experienced long COVID, or lasting symptoms, following an acute COVID-19 infection. Now two recent international studies suggest that the percentage is much higher among healthcare workers and dental professionals.
40% prevalence in health workers globally
In the first study, published in BMJ Public Health, authors conducted a meta-analysis of 28 studies with a combined sample size of 6,481 healthcare workers (HCWs). Globally, HCWs have been at an increased risk for COVID-19 infections since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, due to both exposure to the virus and work conducted in a high-stress environment that may exacerbate the risk of long-term post-viral symptoms. In a second study, a survey conducted in Germany reveals a 23% rate of long COVID among dental professionals, with higher rates in auxiliary personnel than in dentists. The study is published in Scientific Reports.

Left arm or right? Why it matters where you get your vaccine
By Angus Thomson
April 29, 2025 — 5.00amIf you’re rolling up your sleeves for a flu or COVID vaccine this season, you may not give much thought to which arm ultimately receives the jab.
But new Australian research suggests location does matter when it comes to generating a strong immune response from booster vaccines.
The study, published in the journal Cell on Tuesday, found booster vaccines given in the same arm as the first dose generated a stronger and more rapid immune response.
The findings, made in mice and replicated in humans, shed light on a previously understudied corner of the immune system, and could eventually be used to develop next-generation vaccines that require fewer boosters.
“This is a fundamental discovery in how the immune system organises itself to respond better to external threats,” said co-lead author Professor Tri Phan, director of the precision immunology program at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
What the study found
Vaccines work by introducing a harmless dose of a pathogen into the body, generating immune cells that remember the threat and can leap into action if and when it reappears. Those immune cells spread throughout the body, providing widespread protection. But the study suggests the immune system also builds an additional layer of defence close to where a threat first appears (a vaccinated arm, for example).
Key to this response are immune cells called macrophages (meaning “big eaters” in Greek). These “housekeeper” cells lurk in the lining of our lymph nodes, devouring cellular debris and screening for anything suspicious – such as a familiar vaccine or virus – which they then capture and show to the memory B cells responsible for producing antibodies. (This response is what makes the lymph nodes swell when we’re ill or recently vaccinated).
Using high-definition biological imaging, Phan’s team discovered macrophages in lymph nodes near the site of the initial vaccination were “primed” to trigger a more effective and rapid antibody response than those found elsewhere in the body.
The results of the study contradict research published last year which suggested alternating arms may produce a more powerful immune response. Phan said that study showed antibody level peaked earlier when boosting on the same side – consistent with their own findings.
“When you actually look at it, it also shows very similar results to what we ,” he said.
‘A really good opportunity’
While the theory showed promise in mice, COVID-19 gave researchers at the Kirby Institute an opportunity to observe the effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine in 30 volunteers who had never contracted the virus.“This kind of study is tricky in adults because most people have already been vaccinated or had some sort of infection,” said the Kirby Institute’s Dr Mee Ling Munier. “The rollout of the COVID vaccines was a really good opportunity.”
Those who received both doses in the same arm produced COVID antibodies within the first week after the second dose – significantly faster than when given in alternating arms. The antibodies were also more effective against the Delta and Omicron variants.
Although the gap narrowed within a month, the early boost can provide a crucial head start on rapidly mutating viruses such as COVID.
“During a pandemic, those first weeks of protection could make an enormous difference,” Munier said.
Munier and Phan said they would use the findings to investigate improved vaccines for viruses such as hepatitis and HIV, which are not guaranteed to produce antibodies in patients.
“If we can work out what makes these macrophages switch on … then we may also be able to come up with a strategy to make more effective vaccines,” said Phan.
Now they tell us, years after the first dose. I’m sure most people can’t remember which arm they had it in.
I’ve had all my COVID vax doses in the left arm.
wait so what they’re saying is that you should get half the dose in each arm each time for the best effect

The ForwardLiving Partnership is a proactive push to adapt the insurance industry to a stark new reality: more Americans in their 20s, 30s, and 40s are developing serious conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease—conditions once associated with aging. Insurers are taking note, as these early-life diagnoses lead not only to higher claim volumes but also to increased disability and premature death across multiple lines of insurance. “The health trajectory of increasingly younger adults has changed dramatically since COVID-19,” said Bob Gold, Chief Behavioral Technologist at GoMo Health, which offers personalized patient and consumer engagement solutions using behavioral and cognitive science to improve outcomes and reduce costs. “Our partnership with ICSL gives insurers a way to address this shift head-on—by supporting their members with programs designed to prevent illness, manage chronic disease, and ultimately extend healthy years of life.”

As cases of long COVID — often defined as symptoms that weren’t present before persisting for 3 or more months after the infection — became more prevalent and alarming, researchers began to zero in on the commonly reported cardiovascular symptoms of fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, and palpitations, among others. Long-COVID patients, much research has found, have significantly higher odds of developing cardiac complications than those without long COVID. Now, some researchers recommend that severe COVID, such as cases requiring hospitalization, be viewed as an independent cardiovascular risk factor, regardless of the patient’s cardiac health history, and that aggressive measures be initiated.

Need for validation of vaccination programs
Background
The risk of immunodeficiency associated with frequent messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccinations has become increasingly evident, leading to the widespread discontinuation of additional doses, except in Japan.
Main body
Reevaluation of vaccination programs, including live-attenuated vaccines, is crucial. Recently, three cases of children who died a day after routine vaccination were reported in Japan. Despite detailed information, including autopsy findings, experts concluded that a causal relationship with vaccination could not be evaluated. This commentary highlights the challenges with mRNA vaccines and further discusses the need to reassess the efficacy and safety of vaccines that have already been approved.
Conclusion
In the post-mRNA vaccination era, marked by an increase in shingles cases, it is essential to re-evaluate the risks and benefits of currently approved vaccines.

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s44337-025-00274-0Need for validation of vaccination programs
Background
The risk of immunodeficiency associated with frequent messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccinations has become increasingly evident, leading to the widespread discontinuation of additional doses, except in Japan.Main body
I hadn’t heard of “the widespread discontinuation of additional doses”.
Actually, that whole paper is Quite Interesting.

sure well we don’t know about yous peeps but we have it on good authority that absolutely yes an immunisation vaccination that bothers the immune system can thereby let shingles flare, but we have it even more on even more good authority that even more absolutely yes an infection that bothers the immune system can thereby let shingles flare
and given that any number of fuckers are avoiding vaccinations but trying to catch every infection they can
we wonder which is more likely to be causing all their shingles

It was. And then I got to this paragraph-
‘Globally, questioning vaccination has long been considered taboo, with strong social pressures to conform and be vaccinated. The aggressive promotion of the coronavirus vaccine through biased messaging remains vividly remembered. This atmosphere of conformity may partially explain the lack of significant progress in critically reviewing vaccination practices.’

They haven’t been discontinued, here at least – still providing repeat doses at 12 and 6 monthly intervals.
They don’t get advertised anymore though.

This is in Taiwan. One of my friends has a clear splatter screen which she places over the children whilst they take their masks off whilst she reads a story for them and once the finish eating and put their masks back on she removes the screen.
I know that certain private schools in Australia had a lot of Clean Air mitigations put in over holidays because teachers complained that they couldn’t access their rooms.
The Australian Parliament has had a lot of Clean Air accomodation but no one can get the details via FOI.

yeah allegedly
World-renowned endocrinologist, Creswell ‘Cres’ Eastman died peacefully at home last Saturday. He was 85. Professor Eastman’s life work was the prevention of iodine deficiency, especially in pregnant women, which leads to intellectual and physical disabilities in children. It followed his discovery that the trace element in minuscule but daily doses was crucial to healthy brain function. “You could put the whole amount of iodine you need for a lifetime into a teaspoon,” Professor Eastman told Richard Fidler on Conversations in 2015, “so long as you don’t take it all at once”.
that fucking bastard poisoning the water supply and limiting free trade and oppressing personal liberties what an arse
While helping to fix the plumbing at one village, he facilitated the addition of iodine to the water supply. Twelve months later, goitres had all but disappeared in the village’s young children. This led the Malaysian government to legalise the importation of only iodised salt to Sarawak. Professor Eastman lobbied the Chinese government, resulting in a national law that salt for human consumption in China must be iodised.
only war criminals and sociopaths work with CHINA and ASIANS and their governments
Getting salt iodised in Tibet proved a bigger challenge than in China; communities there traded crude salt, making it difficult to introduce an iodised product. Instead, Professor Eastman worked on giving pregnant women an iodised oil capsule that reached 95 per cent of the population, resulting in no new cases of children with health defects. The dairy industry used iodine as a sanitiser to clean equipment, and people received trace elements of iodine in milk. This study led to the mandatory inclusion of iodised salt in most bread made from 2009.

Sunday thought
A new phase of Trump neofascism
Robert Reich
May 25, 2025
Friends,
I thought I couldn’t be more shocked and sickened than I already was, but what’s happened this week is truly horrifying.
In the Oval Office, before cameras and journalists, Trump openly lied to the president of South Africa about alleged violence against white South Africans. The Trump regime has also granted refuge to white South Africans while continuing to bar or deport people of color who desperately need refuge.
The regime told Harvard it can no longer enroll foreign students and that its existing foreign students must transfer to another university or lose their legal status in the United States.
Trump auctioned off a personal dinner to foreigners who poured money into his own crypto business. He has also accepted Qatar’s gift of a $400 million “flying palace” (it’s also just for him — no other president in future years can use it).
At Trump’s insistence, House Republicans have passed a giant bill that would, if enacted, be the largest redistribution of income and wealth in American history — from the poor and working class to the rich and super-rich. The bill includes a poison pill that eliminates the power of courts to hold officials in contempt for disregarding court orders.
In recent days, according to Peter Baker, chief White House correspondent of The New York Times, Trump or his team have charged, investigated, or threatened with investigation New York Attorney General Letitia James, Andrew Cuomo, Kamala Harris, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Bono, Oprah Winfrey, James Comey, unnamed “treasonous” Biden aides, the city of Chicago, and the Kennedy Center.
Trump seems to have entered into a new and wilder stage of authoritarian neofascism. No holds barred. Nothing out of bounds. Rapacious, racist, nativist, vindictive, corrupt.
If you’re also horrified by all this, know that most other Americans are, too (if polls are to be believed).
Resistance is more important than ever.
I feel enormous gratitude to the judges who are trying to stop this. Most have shown themselves to be principled, steadfast, and courageous.
We should also be grateful to the public servants still in their jobs who are standing up to this.
And to everyone else who is pushing back.
Grateful to all communities that are protecting their residents and neighbors from Trump’s vicious dragnet.
Thankful to all the people fighting his attacks on Medicare and Medicaid. Teachers, public employees, workers, and grassroots groups fighting his attacks on the poor.
To the professors, administrators, and students joining together to fight his attacks on higher education.
Appreciative of all who are planning to protest on June 14. It’s Trump’s birthday, on which he’s trying to justify a huge military parade using the pretext of the 250th anniversary of the start of the Continental Army that fought against King George III.
On that day we will join together to tell the world and affirm for ourselves that we do not abide kings.
The more Trump’s tyranny is exposed, the stronger the resistance. The worse it gets, the larger the backlash. The crueler and more vicious his regime becomes, the more powerful the alliances being formed at every level of society to stop him.
We will sweep vulnerable Republican lawmakers out of office in 2026 or before.
We will support groups like the ACLU that are taking Trump to court.
We will spread the truth.
Tyrants cannot succeed where people refuse to submit to them. We will not submit. We will emerge from this stronger than we were before, and more committed to the common good.
Be safe. Be strong. Hug your loved ones.
Oops. Wrong thread … but you already gathered that, no doubt.

Cardiac Multiple Micro-Scars
Background
Unexplained cardiac arrest is often attributed to a patient’s underlying disease. However, it is well known that an autopsy can reveal pathologies that were not noticed before death.
Case Summary
Multiple micro-scars (MMS) found in the myocardium of 3 patients who died of unexplained cardiac arrest were presented at our clinicopathology conference. Upon review of the clinical record, patients with MMS before death had arrhythmia (ie, atrial fibrillation and nonsustained ventricular tachycardia, including new onset). Interestingly, MMS were found in the left ventricle, the junction of the pulmonary vein and left atrium, and the right ventricle and right atrium. All 3 patients had histories of COVID-19 booster vaccination, and 1 of the 3 patients had a history of COVID-19.
Discussion
For patients with unexplained cardiac arrest complicated with arrhythmia, cardiac MMS is given as the differential background disease.

Experts are urging people to get their COVID booster jab as a new, more infectious variant emerges in Australia. NB.1.8.1 accounts for 40 per cent of cases in Victoria and 25 per cent in Western Australia and New South Wales, around 20 per cent in Queensland and less than 10 per cent in South Australia. With Mrs S coming up for surgery on 25 June, after two delays due to medical issues (including a cold), we are taking NO CHANCES with germs, and we wear masks anytime we go out of the house. Including regular shopping trips.
I though i had a minor cough coming on last week, and we wore masks at home for several days.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Centers for Disease Control said Thursday the mandatory interval between two COVID jabs for an estimated 760,000 people in high-risk groups will be shortened to 60 days. As COVID cases surge in Taiwan, demand for the JN.1 vaccine has climbed, according to Rti. In response, the CDC announced that starting June 11, seniors aged 65 and over, Indigenous people aged 55–64, and immunocompromised individuals may receive a second JN.1 dose after just two months due to waning protection and increased risk of severe illness.

aha we knew it ¡ the 2022 SARS-CoV-2 vaccines killed babies in 2020 it’s ¡ obvious
Shingles isn’t exactly a pandemic.
Preliminary new evidence suggests the new shingles vaccine temporarily increases the risk of developing a mild case of shingles in the weeks following the first jab.
The Victorian scientists who spotted the perplexing new signal say their data still shows strong protection from the Shingrix jab: an 83 per cent reduction in new shingles cases, even including the small temporary increase.
The vaccine is safe,” said Dr Aishwarya Shetty, an epidemiologist at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and Victoria’s Vaccine Safety Service, who led the investigation.
“We found there was a brief period – the 21 days post vaccination – when we saw there was an increase in people presenting with shingles. But in all periods post this risk window, we saw this risk was not present.”
The researchers said people should continue to get the vaccine but should be on the lookout for short-term side effects after the first dose.
The data was compiled by a team from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and presented this week at the Communicable Diseases and Immunisation Conference in Adelaide. It has not yet been published in an academic journal.
Other countries rolling out Shingrix have not seen a similar safety signal – more than 150 million doses have been given across more than 50 countries – and it was not spotted in clinical trials of the vaccine.
In a statement, the vaccine’s manufacturer GSK said “based on the totality of data available” there was “insufficient evidence of an increased risk of shingles shortly after vaccination with Shingrix”.
The company said many of the cases might be rashes that were misdiagnosed by GPs as shingles; rashes are a noted side effect of the vaccine.
But the researchers – which includes the head of signal reporting at Victoria’s Vaccine Safety Service – are confident about their data.
Australia’s drug regulator, the Therapeutic Drugs Administration, confirmed it too had “found evidence of a possible temporal association” between the vaccine and shingles and was investigating.
The new data shows a 16-times increased risk of developing shingles in the three weeks following the first dose of Shingrix, compared to the period before vaccination.
The risk only affects people aged over 65. After three weeks, the vaccine’s protection kicks in and the risk of developing shingles drops dramatically.
The researchers do not yet have absolute risk figures. But other studies suggest that for every 1000 unvaccinated people aged between 60 and 69, there will be about 150 new cases a year. Shingrix cuts cases of shingles by 97.4 per cent in that age group, according to a large clinical trial.
“It does not change the overall benefit this vaccine has been proven to have. It’s more about letting people know it is possible,” said Professor Jim Buttery, head of epidemiology and signal detection at the Victorian government’s Immunisation Safety Service. “There is a very short-term increased risk, followed by a much longer period of increased protection.”
The data is not yet conclusive and has not shown up in vaccine surveillance programs in other countries rolling out Shingrix.
“I find that data very strange, and biologically difficult to understand,” said Professor Tony Cunningham, director of the Centre for Virus Research at The Westmead Institute for Medical Research. “It does not quite fit with the trials or the effectiveness studies.”
Cunningham led the global clinical trials that showed Shingrix was safe and effective; they did not find any evidence of shingles reactivation following vaccination.
The Victorian researchers used two datasets for their study, a database of GP visits from Outcome Health and a second dataset drawn from hospital presentations and lab-confirmed cases of shingles.
The increased risk showed up strongly in the GP dataset, but only slightly in the hospital dataset.
The researchers believe this means nearly all the vaccine-related cases are mild, as the patients are going to GPs rather than to hospital. They did not see any increased risk for postherpetic neuralgia, a nasty chronic pain that often is a complication of severe shingles.
“We still believe the true effect possibly lies between the two datasets, but we believe the primary care dataset is the most important to explore this,” said Shetty.
The mildness of the cases may also explain why other countries have not recorded similar increases in shingles.
Because people are not turning up to hospital, they might have been missed by data-collectors. Most countries don’t monitor GP visits – Australia’s database is brand new.
That’s a strength of the study, but it could also be a flaw.
Cunningham said many doctors misdiagnosed a rash or other symptoms as shingles.
Following the vaccine’s 2018 rollout in Germany, some patients reported shingles-like rashes following the jab. But a later investigation revealed half those cases were misdiagnosed.
However, Buttery pointed to a 2007 study showing GPs had a 90 per cent accuracy rate diagnosing shingles. The signal in his data is so strong it would still stand even if many cases were misdiagnosed, he said.
It remains unclear what might be causing the increased risk of shingles following the vaccine.
“The answer is, we essentially don’t know. The immunologists we’ve worked with have theories, but no one knows,” said Buttery.
GSK, the manufacturer of Shingrix, said there was “currently no established biological mechanism through which Shingrix, a non-live vaccine, would cause shingles”.
The team’s hypothesis focuses on age and the design of the vaccine.
Shingles is caused by a reactivation of the Varicella-Zoster virus.
We first encounter VZV as children, when the virus causes chickenpox. The nasty red rash fades, but the virus hangs around – slinking off into our nerve cells, where it is out of the reaches of our immune system.
As we age, our immune systems naturally lose their punch – a phenomenon known as immunosenescence. Eventually, our immune system might weaken so much VZV is able to reactivate, causing shingles.
Why would the vaccine cause reactivation? One possibility: the vaccine’s adjuvant may weaken cellular immunity for a small time period. In people who already have weakened immunity, that short period could allow the virus, in rare cases, to reactivate.
In a time when vaccine misinformation is rampant, the researchers said the close tracking and disclosure of possible side effects was evidence of the safeguards built into Australia’s vaccine system.
“Work like ours is very important to maintain vaccine confidence and vaccine trust, and help patients make informed decisions,” said Shetty.
“It’s important for patients to know this happens after you get your vaccine … so they are not panicking, they are not losing trust in the vaccine. People are there, looking out for us, doing all this work. This is normal.”

On Feb. 11, 2020, World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus openly stated that the new coronavirus was airborne. His colleague Dr. Michael Ryan then whispered to him and showed him a note. A few minutes later, Dr. Tedros retracted his statement, calling the term airborne “military language” and saying the virus spreads by “droplets.”
