I had a discussion, with PM, long ago, about whether the plant I had was the one used in asian cooking or the one they chew in PNG.

Someone has messaged me through Ozgrow wanting to get a cutting, if it is in fact P. sarmentosum. They’ve just returned from a trip to Thailand where they used it in a cooking class. To help me ID mine they sent me this link.

So it looks like mine is the culinary one after all.

I see one of those types of plants is featured in the current issue of STG. There are also lovely pics of a couple of my plants (ones that I have growing I mean) in the mag. It’s so nice to read an article about plants that I grow in my garden rather than what is grown down south. No offence to the people down south intended.

My two gingers that PM admired are in there too.

Sure did. We will still get it I think because it’s full of local stuff.

Me too. It’s the only one I buy now, apart from the occassional foodie one.
