I think it’s not. I’ve done some googling and there are a few other possibilities.

The leaves look a bit big, otherwise I’d suggest a guava? I’m sure I’ve read about a guava apple somewhere…

It’s the old common name thing. Rose Apple here seems to be S. jambos, which isn’t this one. i think it’s called Malay Apple here. There’s a few that are very similar.

Well their custard apple is “cherimoya” (this is the last link I am speaking of), their “custard apple” has a weird skin colour (white?) and their papaya doesn’t look like any that I’m familiar with…mind you I agree that your Rose Apple looks very much like theirs…

Rose Apple here is Syzygium jambos. Wax Jambos is Syzygium jambolana, which looks more likely. Malay Apple, Syzygium malaccense. Java Apple, S. samarangense.

My brain hurts.

the old Rose Apple chestnut eh? S. jambos is good a place to start… I have seen a few, and eaten many, watched TC Larry smash them apart and have thrown others at PNGeans.

Yours look too small. They look almost like S. australe. I like to eat Laulaus.
