A thought…
Many of the people here have mentioned having pieces of Ros’s art.
I propose that we post photos of her work here.
My prints are packed away, but the photos are on the main computer. I’ll search for them in the morning.

I really regret not buying one of her works.
Ros did sell them, didn’t she?

While I have display pieces I bought, I also have some random stuff she gave me. Send me an email @miketz at google mail.
She’s definitely exhibited at the Salamanca Arts Centre; my uncle is CEO there and there was mutual surprise we both knew her.

She had various big exhibitions, but for some years most of her sales were at the annual Christmas exhibition of mini prints which she shared with various other Tasmanian printmakers.
I have several of her prints, I’ll upload some photos later.
She also gave me a little piece of metal and a tool to create an etching that she would print for me, but I never got around to it :(

I was just going to pass on a piece for memories for you :)
….she was very pleased that her last mini prints exhibition, Christmas 2024 season, sold out completely :)

Amazing!
I was offered a piece, (Did she fundraise for her press?) but declined, as my husband was very wary of people on the internet and didn’t want to give out our address. Another regret :-(

Yes, she did fund-raise for her press.
The day my prints arrived. I also have a sepia-toned map one. It’s my favourite.

Beautiful!
Can someone please remind me of the etching process SM used? My trip down memory lane has taken a detour.

Intaglio? Drypoint? Dry etch (not dry retch).
A metal plate, painted with bitumen, the design drawn on, then an acid bath, ink up then run through the printing press.
This is one of my Ros prints-

She was talented, that’s for sure.
This is my other one and my favourite, and thanks to DA, I now know there is more to the thistle than I first thought.
I haven’t found the photos yet.
Ros donated art works to a number of climate change fundraiser art exhibitions that I curated. She would always offer to help out.
I’ll take some good snaps of her art that I have and post them here soon.
Thanks. I often thought I’d like to buy a print but never got around to asking.
Over the next few months I’m going to have to undertake going through all the prints in her drawers, I’ve got a vague plan to create a website to sell a bunch of them.
I’ll obviously let you guys know.

That could be a huge task. Have you got people who can help you?

Gosh, what an undertaking that will be. No easy task to sort through them all, I’m sure there are some true gems in there.
