Heya Arts,

Live streaming of hearings

The Federal Court has an ongoing commitment to providing access to justice by live streaming selected proceedings, including matters of high public interest. The hearings are streamed on the Court’s YouTube channel.

To see whether a hearing will be live streamed, check the Daily Court Lists, which are updated every afternoon for the next business day. To see hearing dates for a particular matter beyond the next business day, members of the public can subscribe to track a case. Note that future dates are subject to change and should be checked closer to the hearing date.

Other proceedings are heard by remote access technology. These are also listed on the Daily Court Lists along with instructions on how members of the public can connect to the hearing.

Note: The use of recording and transmission devices on Court premises or in Court hearings, irrespective of whether that hearing is heard in person, using remote access technology or a combination of both is strictly prohibited, without express approval of the Court. Failure to comply may constitute an offence.the next business day, members of the public can subscribe to track a case. The Court deals with cases in relation to admiralty, bankruptcy, competition, consumer protection, corporations, defamation, human rights and anti-discrimination, industrial and employment, intellectual property, taxation and native title. It also judicially reviews a wide range of federal Government decisions in areas such as social security and immigration.

Are you sure this is the court that you want?

These do not interest me but I was including courts that do livestreaming.

I am more interested in watching/listening to the livestreaming of high profile cases.

Cases like that of the Mushroom Murderer are dealt with by the Supreme Court. For extra olives, anchovies etc that be the Super-Supreme Court.

I am fond of olives but not so much anchovies. So hold off on the anchovies.

Thanks for the clarification.

Like the Victorian Supreme Court?

Some big cases have been livestreamed. I was excited that in the future Arts might be able to watch one of these and with Divine Angel they could dissect it for the forum. It would bring them so much joy.
