i turned on the live teev coverage too.
it’s a smaller quake then september but it’s more devastating by far.
this time people are trapped and the emergency services are overloaded.
Mother Nature can be so cruel :(

:( We happened to be having cake in the office so they’ve put the TV on. I’ve come back to my desk because I know I will get too upset if I sit and watch it :(

not much news of lyttelton – the very steep sides of an old volcano could be subject to landslides and there’s bound to be a lot of tourists there – they all drive thru’ the tunnel there as well.
I haven’t had the TV on at all today, it’s just too horrible. NZ feels so much like Aus and the people are lovely. Christchurch was my fav city too.
I haven’t seen any of the disaster because I’ve just got home. Not sure I want to look anyway.

no driving through the tunnel now… GF’s bro’s house in Lyttelton is in two pieces now. The family are okay the last we heard which is a blessing. :(

Glad they’re ok. Just a few weeks ago they were probably worrying about you two.

GFs mum is so stoic at the moment. Yasi at Townsville and then Alice, Carlos at Darwin and then Broome and now the Earthquake in NZ. Also in that mix was storms in northern Tassie and that covers almost all of GFs siblings…

I don’t do tv, and I had dinner guests last night, but I was tearing up listening to ABC radio this morning.
Got cranky with Littlefella and blew up then had to explain that the news was upsetting me, him being too long in the shower wasn’t the root cause of me going off.
