Jo seems better adapted to it. She doesn’t like it though. I ….on the other hand have bought a lappy loaded with it, & I hate hate hate (add any number of hates you like) hate it. I even forked out some coin for Windows 11 for dummies. I’m even too dumb for that. does this have to be so hard? or can I return it to something I recognise?

How do I backup files from a Win 10 PC and restore them to a Win 11 PC?

What is the point of this external File History backup if I can’t restore it to another PC(Win 11). I am having enough trouble with onedrive already to be trying to set up another potential cause of problems.

Personally, I don’t use OneDrive, it’s a cloud thingy. If I want to back something up I copy it to an external HD.

Mr Kingy,

This sort of backup/restore is meant to only work on the environment/computer that the backup was created from.

ie. If you make a massive stuff up, you can restore your computer back to a known point.

Onedrive has very limited space available unless you pay for it.

Did you see my post from last night?

Yesterday, i abandoned Windows altogether, and went to Linux Mint.

I decided that there was little, if anything, on my PC that i could not live without, and installed Linux Mint, entirely obliterating Windows.

It’s going quite well.

Yeah, I would just use File Explorer… Click-copy or drag and drop
