Subject: My fizzy drinks

My new toy, a Devanti Ice Block Maker is going gang busters. šŸ˜Ž

However…….. the dam awaits. 🤬

The ice it makes, you put it in a glass, as one does.

Pour in the fizzy drink, and it ucksplodes everywhere like Mt Vesuvius!!

And the fizzy drink looses nearly all it’s fizz. 😟

Doesn’t mater. Drink first, or ice first, it still ucksplodes. Pour slowly or fast. Doesn’t matter. It still ucksplodes.

What must a man do to stop fizzy drinks ucksploding and retain their fizziness?

Thank you for your considered and professional guidance and assistance.

PS. No riff raff.

The ice froze fast, so it’s full of holes and not smooth. It creates nucleation points and explodes along stress lines.

But be careful, the whole dam might ucksplode!

The ice basket that it\s dumps the ice in, is not refrigerated. So it does gradually melt on the surfaces. ā€œnewā€ or ā€œoldā€ ice, with smooth melted surfaces, it does the same thing. Ucksplodes.

Ucksplodes far more than bought ice from Woollies or the petrol station, or ice cube trays from the fridge freezer.

Pour a 1/4 glass of fizzy drink. Pop the ice in, get the ucksploding over and done with, then top up the glass with more fizzy drink. It still continues to ucksplode. Even if you pour really really really slowly…………. Until there’s hardly any fizzy left.

OK. Just made a full glass of fizzy with ice. Ucksploding over and done with. I’ve drunk half over the last 15 mins or so. Maybe longer. There’s still ice left in the glass.. Glass 1/2 full (or 1/2 empty, which ever you prefer).

Top up with same fizzy drink and it still ucksplodes.

Ucksploded all the way to the top of the glass.

GGGGGGRRRRR!! 🤬

You’re not wrong about one year of seeds=seven years of weeds. Trouble is that you can cut the flower heads down but if they are old enough they still go on to make seeds. I noticed that when I was trying to control it in my horse paddock. I’d dump it into heaps to rot down. And watched as time went on the seeds would fly out from the pile.
I asked a sheep and cattle farmer how they control it, and they said that they put the sheep onto it as they can and will eat it. Sheep have less problems after eating it apparently. But I think mowing it is easier than buying in a herd of woolly creatures.

Fast freezing is creating internal air bubbles all the way through I guess.
Just got to find the right use for this brand new product of air filled ice now.
But that doesn’t solve the problem of lovely ice clinking away in fizzy drinks after a hard day’s mowing.
If you break the ice down into smaller pieces do you still get the volcano?

The grass is quite short in the paddock because of the cattle. You’ve got to pick you time to mow it. I m,ay have left it a bit late. Some of it has seeded. Mow ragweed at the wrong time, and it turns into sprouting tree stumps.

Though I’m aware that bits slashed off, can sprout if the conditions favour propagation of such cuttings.
