A Victorian agronomist has been awarded an international peace prize for a farming technique that has revolutionised farms in Niger.
Farmer-managed natural regeneration restores denuded landscapes into fertile soils for livestock and crops.
Tony Rinaudo’s technique has spread to more than 40 nations and has added more than 500,000 tonnes of grain to Niger’s annual crop yields.
