Fallen trees from last week’s storm…

Looks a bit like a wooden Shai-Hulud.

I thought the inside of this ancient ironbark wound was interesting… old termite activity, fungus, regrowth

This is as far as I got clearing the driveway with my little chainsaw.

Fair chunk of land you have got there
At least no-one’s head was stoved in.
well you know stable forests don’t store much CO2 so knocking these down and letting them regrow will do a world of good

It’s a fertile piece of ground but too many big trees that keep blowing over :)
(Don’t get me started on the wattle regrowth)

Ya. I’ve got a friend with a small dozer. I think I can get away without the winch.. that fence is part of a very old stockyard and needs demolishing anyway.

Wattle are a reforestation plant. They quickly cover the area so that new Eucalypts get protection until they get above the wattles and then they slowly kill the wattles out.

Maybe down your way. Here they so thick and aggressive the Eucalypts have almost shot at competing. Given the chance they’ll go 12 plus m tall. Eventually.. I spose…
I’m going to have a go with a mulcher to take them back to ground level but they are evil things for resprouting…. ?

Yes. Most wattles enjoy a bit of pruning.
