OK – i had someone identify it as a different spider. so at this stage your guess is noted but put down as tentatively wrong.
we did see the spider yesterday but it has disappeared – so was it the mother?

they have sorted them – probably the best you and i can do is go around with our eyes open and hope to fool the sheilas one day.

would you care to drop the botanical name. LOL.

I’d have to google it.

Jerusalem artichoke is “Helianthus Tuberosus”

Dunno, I’ll leave it up to the sheilas to guess, or can i have a clue pepe?

they have sorted them – probably the best you and i can do is go around with our eyes open and hope to fool the sheilas one day.

the type of spider eggs remains unsolved but bubba has cheated and reckons she knows.

my hint for the spider is -

dadah !!!

“it’s the most unlikely name for a spider but that’s what it looks like..!”

bird poo spider?

That’s what I came up with as well.

“A puffball fungus” is as close as I could get…we had two that looked like soccer balls, but just bigger than tennis balls…I thought they might have built themselves around a horse dropping, and they had the “flat bits stitched together” pattern that you get with soccer balls…

The only edible fungus I know of up here is the field mushroom…it’s lovely and pink on the underside and there’s nothing like it when cooked…but one must smell first and if there’s the faintest copper odour, do not use as it will make the diner very sick (uncomfortable sick)….

no scribbly is guilt free in this case.
if you look up family ‘drepanidae’ you get identicle moths
- same eye and vein position on wing and same body shape.
the hooks are part of the look like-a-leaf deception. follow the ‘vein’ on the wing to either end and you will see a little hook which looks like the end of a gum leaf.

Hmm. No takers?

OK I think it is Bertya cunninghamii Gooma Bush or wallaby bush. This is one I grew from a cutting taken from local roadside remnant Mallee country.

Not a comp, but what are these weird splotches on my ballerina apple? Sun burn? Pics show both sides. These 3 are the only apples like it on one tree that’s loaded with fruit. The rest are still green.
