The flying taxis thing seems legit. Not widespread (yet), but real.

Just think, now you can be killed by falling debris from defective/crashed/poorly-maintained vehicles in the privacy of your own back yard.

It is bad enough with drones already.

I always thought flying cars predicted in science fiction would use some sort of anti gravity technology combined with some sort of power source not actual fuel
So they need propulsion to move but not stay in the air

Yeah they are, but the 2nd video is quite dubious. Flying cars, that is a vehicle that can drive on the road and then fly always combines the worst of both and the result it always pretty average at best. It’s much better to have a proper flying machine even a drone-based type.

A blimp would work
But the cars in 5th Element, the Star Wars prequels, Blade Runner, etc
I didn’t think they were mean to be flying cars that are actually just planes
They had VTO/L type ability

They have some kind of sci-fi device that lets them nullify gravity. I guess that’s implied as all their spacecraft have artificial gravity so it’s just a different application.

Yes
I thought that was the idea behind flying cars
So they don’t crash easily, if would have to be deliberate
