You read about a lot of new battery chemistries that promise various advantages. Faster charging, energy density, safer, price etc.
which ones hold the most promise?
I’m thinking for transport rather than for grid applications.

I don’t have any special insights.
I’ll be interested to see how sodium ion goes.

Weight is a big primary concern.

so keep them in outer space

Now there’s a thought. We have one of those. It is nown as Sol.

we mean people have been swapping AA and AAA and C and D and 9 V batteries for decades it’s kind of hilarious that they sell these things as a new concept
I asked a question the other week (I think so anyway)
Do batteries have an upper limit to what they can store and not actually be hugely unstable.
I’d assume it likely depends on what we discover and create into the future.
Science fiction has hand held devices that going by their destructive capabilities must hold many megawatts of power
Wondering if its even possible without violating the laws of physics

uh yes¿ Isn’t that why they have labels saying do not over charge

Google..
The theoretical maximum energy density for a rechargeable lithium-ion battery is roughly 400–500 Wh/kg.
In the local news today… increasing number of fire at waste facilities bc batteries.
The excavator operator who was working here said he had to leave to deal with a “hot load” from a garbage truck.. happens more and more often. Truck load starts burning and they just dump it quick..
He reckoned vapes are a big worry.

oh c’m‘on blaming poor drug addicts is poor form, everyone knows it’s the rich pricks laughing away in their electric vehicles who are causing the fire problem
In reality I would not be surprised that Li-ion remains the most common batt type, 20 or 30 years from now.

No

Anything with a lithium battery.

They could be quite a danger if you set fire to a truck full of them

Just outside bunnings locally a garbage truck dumped its load beside the road and blokes in chem suits were attacking it.

I was wondering if they are considered a potential terrorist weapon
