Consciousness Could Exist in Bodies Nothing Like Ours, Researchers Say

Here’s a question that sounds like science fiction but is being asked in deadly earnest by serious philosophers.

Does consciousness require flesh and blood?

It’s a question I wrestled with myself when I wrote a novel that addresses the very nature of consciousness in the Universe, so a new paper – claiming the answer is almost certainly no – caught my eye at once.

possibly it could, but for the moment it needs oxygen and glucose supplied by a pressurized system using blood

you ever had that light headed thing when stand up quickly from low blood pressure, or fainted, or passed out

Here’s a conjective idea.

Complexity needs simplicity before any point of complexity can reach the level of consciousness that we have. Living things with lower levels of consciousness will have lower levels of complexity, lower still will reach a point where consciousness becomes lower to less self awareness towards no self awareness based on the level of simplicity to complexity.

Consciousness based on a scale of simplicity to complexity to to speak.

>>so to speak

A scale that is a very long analog algorithm which we are converting to digital.
