Well, it is a variant spelling of whinge.
But I’ll except your grumble.

One of my favourite games is now dead. But it will supposedly be resurrected at some point…
The thing about Netflix subscription is, you get free games to play on your mobile device. One of these games was Terra Nil, which involves the player transforming a desolate wasteland into a thriving ecosystem. I played it all the time, until an update which was so glitchy, the game constantly crashed and was unplayable. So I haven’t played in at least 2 years.
Went back into it today and I can’t get past the loading screen. The game sub on Reddit tells me the Netflix deal ended a few months ago (hence the issue with the landing screen), but they plan on resurrecting it though the regular app store, or I can purchase it on Steam right now.

I do buy different colour brake fluid though for when I’m completely purging the system. For example if the fluid in the system is green I’ll buy the same spec fluid but red in colour. So when I bleed the brakes when I see red fluid appear I know it’s all fresh fluid.

The Swans Saga is unethical, no need to bring it up every day, but bringing it up everyday has seen the women involved receiving threats, if the media were to scale back to just 2 days, spread a week apart, I think the women would not be receiving so many threats, maybe even none, but by broadcasting it day after day is reinforcing peoples negative views and the women are being bullied over the media and online social media sites.

This whole course has been about making education/curriculum accessible to autistic learners: “What are you really assessing? the knowledge, or the way it’s delivered?”
Now, this assignment has a visual component, which I am not good at. It’s explicitly stated that we are not graded on technical ability, but we are graded on how the information flows. If I can’t get a visual or text box to sit where I want it to sit, I’m gonna be marked down for that part. Am I being graded on my ability to use Canva, or my knowledge?
Therefore, I propose we should have a range of assessments in which we choose our assignment. Presentation, essay, infographic, interpretive dance, whatever.

I have first year students writing a literature review, I said between 600 – 800 words – because there is a second part where they are writing the rest of the report – the whole assessment is 1500 words. One student wrote 2000 words just for the lit review… I cant mark that… or I mark the first 800 words then stop? that will disadvantage them as the hypothesis is worth 4 marks at at the end… I dont know why students think they will impress us by doing more… it’s actually the opposite

Yeah, my tutors are very firm on, “we will stop reading at 2500 words” (the word limit).
Essays could be accompanied by a synopsis.
Outline a summary that reflects the main body of work.
Mark the synopsis as well.

That could be something AI could do really well, reduce essays to a synopsis.

Yes the good part might be just a few more words away.

so the trick is to use a hypercompounding language like German or Finnish or make sure you use only 2.5 pictures but make them very detailed

yeah well 跟爱 can do that so as a human you need to be more creative
we’d support an improved policy of, if students exceed the limit, teachers have discretion of choosing which 2500 words one reads

People should not write a 27 page description of a door a la Stephen King.

marking stuff
This whole course has been about making education/curriculum accessible to autistic learners: “What are you really assessing? the knowledge, or the way it’s delivered?”
Now, this assignment has a visual component, which I am not good at. It’s explicitly stated that we are not graded on technical ability, but we are graded on how the information flows. If I can’t get a visual or text box to sit where I want it to sit, I’m gonna be marked down for that part. Am I being graded on my ability to use Canva, or my knowledge?
Therefore, I propose we should have a range of assessments in which we choose our assignment. Presentation, essay, infographic, interpretive dance, whatever.

anyway to go back to the source we thought having lots of words was doing less, doing more would be going to the effort of cutting it down
Anyway I’m feeling better now that I have a draft of the visual component. Does it look shit? Yes. Is it cohesive? No, I’m not a graphic designer. Does it have good information? Hope so. Does it include dinosaurs and a rainbow? Yes.
*Technically it contains a pterosaur, not a dinosaur. Still has a rainbow though.

Do more with less.
Write the essay as a poem, that will make them more creative.
They can do much more with less then.

yes, that’s the point, because self editing is a valuable skill in writing journal articles.

I wonder if anyone has submitted an essay as a 1500 crossword puzzle.
I would get annoyed.

Read House of Leaves, tell me what you think about the visual way the story is presented.

Interpretive dance can be kind of taxing.
I’ve so many sheets of paper on my desk, all containing various drafts of my visual component, that I’m currently unable to find my stapler.

In two weeks, I’ll finally be able to have a clean desk again! Well, as clean as is normal for me, which isn’t very clean compared to normal standards.
