In Brisbane now. Cool and wet outside, quite miserable really. Bumpy flight down was fun and it stirred up my egg and bacon tart, sour dough bread and yoghurt with passionfruit.

I prefer limes to lemons when cooking, mostly…and as an additive to water…why do you think limes are over-rated????
Fun, isn’t it, sitting at the BNE terminal, watching all the people come and go…there’s a cafe in the Virgin terminal that does the best, thickest raisin toast with great service as well…

I think limes taste dirty in comparison with lemon. Lemon is a cleaner taste. To me anyway.

he’s going to paris via singapore probably. a 32 hour trip or thereabouts.
did you know that, chemically speaking, there is no difference between lemons and limes? They have the same chemical formula. The difference is that one is structured with a twist to the left, while the other has a twist to the right. This provides the difference in taste.

in the stomach woman! Sheesh…
Dinner was a nice piece of salmon with garam marsala flavours. Served with a St Hugo Shiraz, and the waitress was very generous with my shot of 12yr old single malt from Glen Livet…

frogs legs on toast ? :)
have heard that the frog legs are tres expensive. Oh well oh well. The rolling fields here are patched with new green crops and reasonably established bright yellow canola. Have not seen any sunflowers yet, maybe a little early?
The hedgerows and pollarded trees are very interesting. I shall make a note today that I should take more images of the horticulture. I have enjoyed a wonderful conversation with two gardeners at a nearby cemetery, oh the history in those places. I have enjoyed a visit to the Amiens Cathedral which is ginormous! And when the sun rises shortly, I can see it from window. In fact the Cathedral can be seen from many kilometres away.
The coins are odd and the paper notes are funny too. But when you give them to someone, sometimes you get something in exchange.

It seemed more of a distance thing back then. They were amazed at how far we’d go in a day without giving it a thought. They wouldn’t go anywhere much without a packed lunch and finding out where the loo stops were. LOL

Soooo, you got off the train at Burleigh, distracted by a tanned, stirringly-stacked local blonde, no doubt, and before you knew it the train continued to Brisbane, avec your luggage?

Oh yeah, I went back and read that just now…he trained to Murwillimbah and then bussed to Burleigh…his luggage then bussed to Brisbane without him…
They’re all stonkered here…poor boys have been working today for the in-laws…fixing and mowing and whippersnippering…quiet day at the races yesterday, the crowd was half of last year’s but a big day for all just the same…tomorrow is the May Day holiday…fancy the Shearer’s Strike starting in Clermont (according to TheE’s historical excerpt)…Mr D noted once that the sheep cockies (many resting in their graves now) were more socially arrogant than the cow cockies (who came after them)…one of our friends was made to ride in the back of the farmer’s ute whilst the dogs got to ride in the cabin…that family has fallen apart (I wonder why) but the friend has done very well for himself…
might have to go find some more Paris photos, to bring this thread back on track.
