Subject: Storing Gear Ideas?

Looking at a way I can Store all of my camping bits and pieces its like how my tool boxes where at the start of the year all a mess (would take a day to find what i want.)
Trying to Brain Storm some Idea of how to store it.
I Have things Like Cooking Gear, a Number of Billies, Camp oven, Tongs, Lid Lifts, Bbq plate, and then all the things to eat with and off, and all my other camping gear.
Thinking those Plastic Bin you get from Bunnings But not sure they would hold up to the useage that they would get, anyone else got any ideas?

MrD had a couple of boxes made from Marine Ply, so the boxes could get wet in wet weather but still stay dry inside. They are heavy, tho’. He had them made about 1979, and ran amok in the bush with them for about 2 years…in his job…still solid as…one has a tray shelf where the cutlery organiser goes. The camp oven doesn’t go in here, gets wrapped in newspaper if it comes along at all…I’ll ask him his philiosophy behind these and how they were supposed to work. We keep most of the camping gear in here except for the gas bottles of course …..

If of course you intend to drive somewhere to camp.. all this stuff should be packed down tightly compressed but with packing so that it does not vibrate against any other thing.. If it is to be stored in shed until then the plastic boxes are good because they do keep mice and rats from running amok in your gear. Particular care should be given to stuff like tents in this regard but also cooking utensils etc..

Plan is to put Some of the Utensils into a small Plasitc box and then store this box inside a box that i would use for washing up.

Wrap wooden tool handles or tent poles in corrugated cardboard to prevent them from rubbig together in transit and splintering.. also keeps the oils in the wood longer.

We used to store our stuff in cheap crates. (you can get them at Bunnings afaik) They are about the size of a milk crate and each one held a different catagory of stuff. A kitchen one or sometimes 2 for the kitchen. A cooking one. A bathing one. I used a general holdall for table condiments like tomato sauce, salt and pepper, sugar etc. those holdalls are handy for camping. I used to use it for home BBQ’s as well.
