I’ve only boled them or added to stews. They aren’t something I buy often, I prefer Swedes.

Turnips aren’t something we eat very much. D hates them and I only put them in soups or stews.

I asked about the bitter turnips when I went to the Seed Savers meeting on Sunday. Apparently it is a deficiency of some sort when growing them that causes this. I would not be surprised as it was bought soil and only the first crop so it has not had enough time to get nice and balanced with compost and manures etc. Maybe next time they will be better.

Try Swedes. Similar taste but sweeter.

28 beef red wine and mushroom pies made… more than I thought but they will all get eaten soon enough. The son in law dropped in on his way home from work for eggs and took 4 pies. He’s going to see if he can get away with telling my daughter that he made them, hehe.
The kitchen smells lervely :) I’ve plenty of frozen lime juice too, with zest in it, so decided to make a lime self saucing pud.. simple and I can use a whisk to mix things.
Oh yeah! I’m back in the kitchen!!
temporarily..

it doesn’t sound like you are resting that shoulder HP. I find it hard to believe that you can do all this with that arm totally inactive…

I’ve got lemons to juice too, you just reminded me. It’s a Lisbon but one of them is the size and shape of a grapefruit.
