we arrived in Townsville too late. Margaret Olley had made a few trips to Townsville to not only judge the local art awards but she also presented a few workshops, and her visits had a profound effect on those who attended and those who became acquainted with her. Many of the ladies who attended the workshops became correspondents with Miss Olley and the art community here will certainly be in bereavement this week. GF is saddened today.

I saw her a few weeks back on teev. Painting her little heart out, standing over a table with her work on the flat.
