No but I wish I did. We get too much cold and frosts for one to be able to survive here I think.
i know there are some in Cairns somewhere, maybe in Townsville too.
it might be too cold here, gets down to 10 deg. in winter here, no frosts though

Did you try on Ebay?
no i don’t use ebay

I don’t blame you. I don’t either but I have seen them listed on there. I’m sure Jade Vine plants are available fairly often because I’ve seen them. Pain Master might have a clue about a nursery that might COD plants from Townsville.

I’ve seen a photo of one growing in Sydney with the right micro climate. There’s a mail order place at Nambour that sells them if you’d like me to chase up the addy.

It’s not listed ATM but they definately have had it in the past so it might be worth asking. I suspect it’s seasonal.

As I suspected. They had it in the March-April catalogue.

thanks for that bubba :)
seed = good luck.
Your best bet is to propagate via cuttings. There are fantastic specimens at the Flecker Bot Gardens Cairns and also the Port Moresby Bot Gardens of which I once took some cuttings, but due to a PGK1,000,000 water bill, the POM Bot Gardens were dying including their Jade Vine. My cuttings failed.
However I desperately needed some for a garden in New Britain and was in the process of asking at Flecker for some cuttings, but fortunately the Moresby ones came good again!
So it is a tough plant, but I hear that seeds are notoriously difficult.
I should ask at my local nursery to see if they can get it in, I am sure I could find a patch to which to grow it here….

I looked on there but my surfing skills aren’t much good.
I live in Tahiti and have a jade vine ( srongylodon macrobotrys)
It is making right now a pod, have been pollinisated by birds ( chestnut breasted mannikin or crimson backed tanager are the birds I saw drinking the flower ) as there is no bat here
As I read and some persons confirm me, the seeds will be avalable for about 10 days after maturity
I will plant some seeds but I can also send by plane some
the jade vine flowers 2 times a year in july-august and august-septembre so the flowering is finishing now
I can send photo of the flowers and the pod

after being processed by quarantine, the seed will probably be too old. Better to source some inside Australia I think.

That was a very kind offer, but our Customs are amongst the strictest in the world…a former forumite (Sarah’s Mum) went on a world tour and brought back, after arranging with customs, seeds (mostly vegetable heritage seeds). These seeds were handed over to Australia Customs, who did what ever they have to do to them, before handing them back to Sarah’s Mum. In the case of corn and some other seeds (probably the cereal crops?) the seed was “grown out” and the resulting crop of seeds was then handed to Sarah’s MuM.
The Australian country side is very fragile, there’s numerous introduced pest plants ruining the balance of nature here, and thus the Australian customs is strict, strict, strict, about imported vegetation. I even had a parcel which included those dolls within dolls from Russia, opened and checked…they repacked it nicely and included a note…
The citrus plants that introduced the canker to the local citrus industry, were illegal imports that Customs didn’t detect…

A very serious issue is the introduction of unwanted disease into this country. I would take every step to discourage the practice of requesting or responding to such requests. Similarly I would attest the same to sending stuff from here to elsewhere.
If you must do this. Please do it through the proper channels.
i think lost in translation, i think Christine meant sending flowers by plane, maybe sells them ?

Christine, these are indeed a beautiful flower and we would love to see photos. I have imported seed and soil during my time in PNG back into Australia and indeed, Customs and Quarantine in both countried were involved. Permits need to be processed and it can be a lengthy process.
And from what I hear, Jade Vine is terribly difficult to strike from seed, even viable, pollinated seed.
But welcome to the forum, it is good to hear from someone outside of Australia!

this is the way I read it:
“It is making right now a pod, have been pollinisated by birds….” (her plant has seed pods with fertile seeds having been pollinated by birds)
“As I read and some persons confirm me, the seeds will be avalable for about 10 days after maturity” (seeds will be good for 10 days after the pod matures)
“I will plant some seeds but I can also send by plane some.” (she will be planting some seeds, but can also send some seeds by plane)
