most products to control scale are oil based and work by smothering the pest, so I don’t see why neem wouldn’t work at least in that respect.

I thought it was more of an aromatic insect repellent? You know, keep mosquitoes and flies at bay from your kitchen?

Mealy bug are a kind of scale, aren’t they? I’d go for it, give it a try…should imagine any oil would smother the scale, to be honest…

I want an inexpensive source of neem oil to help fight fruit fly. I’ve just been informed that the dept will be fining peole who have fruit fly this year.. I said, so I can sue you for farting?

Fruit fly renders the fruit malodorous so I deemed my reply naturally suggestive.. His farts come on the wind as does the fruit fly.
No matter what I do to protect myself from either.. it is NOT my fault that they arrive on my doorstep.

I pointed to the fact thta I had axed most of my fruit trees since I didn’t need the amount of fruit now thta the children have left. I pointed to the fact that I have fruit fly bait at my back door which is applied weekly. I pointed to the fact that my trees are clean of fallen fruit and stripped of fruit if I see a fly. I said, if it was not this windy, then mosquito netting would be OK.. he said no. Well I’m not going t use Rogor.. If the fruit industry which does not sell me fruit cannot look after themselves.. I will not bear the brunt of the cost of their almost wholly export industry.. If the supermarkets who also do not sell me fruit cannot take better precautions .. then I will still nor waer the cost.
If the dept. of Ag. cannot police the borders.. then I will not be held to account for the crimes of others.
If you want to come into my backyard annoying me then don’t be surprised if I respond with direct action.

Don’t need chooks.. I have every known species of native ants.

They cannot.. They have admitted this to me. Thta the fruit fly generated in cities is out of their control. They will not restart the border protection poicy of earlier years, because they don’t have the money.. They can affod to sue me for fruit fly I did not import nor cultivate, due to the fact that I live within a fruit fly quarrantine zone. I looked at the four useless assistants he had who asked for the keys to jump in the van to use the air conditioner on a day that is not any hotter than 24˚C.. shook my head.
