I think after the Wivenhoe event, any grey clod on the Brisneyland horizon will trigger a severe weather warning.

We got down to 15c before I went to bed. Almost in winter jamies again. It’s also pretty dry. Hosing is becoming a chore.

Spring weather…possibly. It’s spring during the day but still winter o/n. It was 14c when I checked the reading at 6am. I’m back into long sleeves and long legged jamas. Don’t like being cold.

The spring part is obvious in the garden. Bauhinia corymbosa is a picture and covers almost all the tank now. Day lilies are doing their thing but I don’t think there are any buds on the new purchases. It’s their second year too. There should be some flowering. A lot of the natives are in flower or have just finished. The rainbow lories are loving it. So am I. Hydrangeas are covering all the leaves in a lovely mauve shade. I might try to make them blue next year. Fancy a swathe of blue for a change.

We have friends booked into our B&B for tonight. It will be lovely to catch up with them again.

Got to go. Stuff to do.

we had one day here recently where the humidity dropped to 6% and the temp was mid 30s. I thought someone had relocated us to Coober Pedy for the day!

Our rain predictions are diminishing fast. I’m losing faith just as fast. We’re supposed to take to the hills for the weekend, from Friday but if we don’t get some rain we’ll have to cancel. I’m not prepared to lose any more stuff to the dry.

We have had some rain. Not much but I will stop whinging about it now.

It started as we were leaving town to head back home. Boy O Boy! Did it rain? I couldn’t see the road but D said he could and he was driving. It was absolutely teeming down. I just looked out the side window and pretended I was holidaying in Hawaii. I didn’t want to see what was ahead. I could feel the sheets of water hitting against the tyres as we drove on.

Anyway we got home safely and it hadn’t reached our place at that time but the wind was blowing and the sky was black.

I lived to tell the tale and we don’t have to do any hosing this afternoon.

You got any yet Bubba?

We had reached your blistering 26c when I woke this morning. Another scorcher for here I fear. I hear them saying on the teev that the coast is going to have another rainy day. That is about 40km
from us. Must be skinny rain that’s hugging the coastline. Wish it would open it’s arms a bit further.

We finally got some rain. 9mls. Thankful for that anyway. Don’t have to hose today. Picked another 4 huge tomatoes. Cucumbers are excelling. Cuces are prolific bearers aren’t they? A shame I don’t eat them.

Garden looks totally different this morning. Amazing what a drop of rain can do.
