Weirdest think happen to me today…. I went to a gathering of forumers from another field of interest and another form of fora today and we were all talking about real names vs forum names and one chap said that he caused much confusion many years ago (before I moved to Townsville and joined up this particular forum) when he changed his name from WW, which stood for Wobbly Wombat.

I had to ask him, did he ever frequent the ABC fora and in particular the gardening one and he said yes that he did. I said to him “Hi, I’m also known as Painmaster” to which he laughed with vigour and we reminisced about Miss Mod and the fun and times of a fora long since gone.

So those of you who remember the old forum from 2003 and 2004, Wobbly Wombat says “G’day”.

I went and did a check in my old GA diary days and I didn’t have a WW or Wobbly Wombat written in there. Before my time too. In those days I used to write down all the used names, mostly so I could try to keep abreast of their climate region. In those days we talked gardening a lot more than we do on here. Under “W” I have WxZone, WoodWorm and Whatamidoing and their climate areas. How strange am I? Don’t answer that. Plus I still have the diary. That’s even more strange!!!

The best way to not kill them is to get an epiphitic type, tie it to a suitable tree and then forget about it.

The occassional squirt with the hose as you go past is all it takes.

Are we speaking of the Wombat who lived in Albany, WA?

I reckon.

Yes its Urban Wombat….. he used to pop a wombat at the end of his posts. He ‘s not sure why he upset Miss Mod but she banned him and so he didn’t bother to come back.

“Lucky who doesn’t come here much as she’s not gardening these days” :(

Thanks BG..

I’ve been very busy working, company thinks it is easier to load us up with extra 12hr shifts in our days off than to train and employ more people!

I now rent a room out (son of a friend of mine) but he turns out to be a precocious 42 year old teenager. He doesn’t know yet yet, but I’m soon to give him notice. I’m timing it for my convenience, he’ll be here while I’m on my next Bali trip late Feb. I’ve had 3 trips to Bali in 2 years, very cheap from Perth. My next trip was $270 return for airfares!

I get fillings done there, about $50 a go. Last time the dentist suggested I get 3 missing teeth replaced with implants, so I got them done by a foreign trained surgeon in Denpasar. It was a bit disconcerting, saw him at 12, he took xrays, talked about the procedure, told me they were $A1200 each, and would I like the 4 o’clock appointment? THAT DAY. I gave it a couple of days and went back. My next trip (+6 months) is to get the crowns put on.

I’ve sold my bike (Suzuki Hayabusa), I was getting back from group rides after doing 200-250kmh on country roads for long rides, thinking gee that was silly, then finding myself doing it again next time. And I wasn’t getting out on it often enough anyway. I really need my license for work, and the consequences of meeting a jarra tree at 200+ are pretty final..

I’m currently painting the inside of my lounge room, it’ll be the whole house, room-by-room..

Had an AC put in my bedroom as I do 6am-6pm night shifts (usually only nights), to make sleeping easier. Also had 4 sliding doors replaced by swinging ones, had wokkas with fluros put in the bedrooms and lots of lights puts in outside.

Had carpet put in the lounge, should have waited till after painting, eh?

So I’ve been busy..

What is the gossip? What have I missed?

I should have read this before I mentioned the bike…. I thought your absence may have been female related…. maybe 2012?
