what if you started a sssf facebook style website?

many people are considering to dump facebook over the timeline debacle (many people hate it)

you could harness and hone this hate into justiflying a new type of facebook site that is simple to use and has links to a science forum

that is you create a science based facebook site with scientists and interested parties

too radical?

you couls also have stuff that shows you how to repair stuff without fear or favour

like an instructional video

i could dismantle my washign machine and show people how to repair and diagnose it when its gone wrong

this kind of hting would bring people in, the forums would pique their interest

you could you tube links that teach people

some people might here might do a you tube instructables on a particular topic

make magazine does this kind if thing

you need to start off with making the site UNIQUE and useful

you could make it the unofficial science site of australia

the forums would be part of it

you should avoid loading it up and making it unuseable

i’m saying that if the forums are eventually dropped you could take this as an opportunity to do something that works at many levels

you keep this forum as a legacy device

like voyager has its dirty nameplate in star trek 1

no science site i know of has direct tuition with people infront of a board giving a lecture

now

you could incorporate this science site into a facebook style format

people would sign up and then be able to take part in discussions

the direct tuition would be links to you tube

i think it would work and be used by teaching staff and students

i guess some limited form of advertising would keep the site going

its a combo of facebook, sssf and direct tuition

approved persons would give a face to the camera explanation of concepts and things, these kinds of things are normally found as very old films in classrooms

i couldn’t think of what site exists like this. make magazine has a few you tubes explianing thigs but they didn’t ever develop the concept to include regular posters in a discussion format style website

you’d retain this style of forum as a legacy of the original site
