i see you’re doing the jamie oliver ‘sticks for birds’ trick – will it work i wonder?

Onions, lettuce, rocket, leeks, garlic and the biggest or oldest radish in the suburb

your lettuce look terrific – i put my seed in yesterday.
Your roses are looking great Val :)

As far as I know bush beans are just not climbing ones, I’m waiting to see! The sticks are for support, a hint that was on the bush pea packet, so as I had a lot of twigs from our half dead silver birch I thought they could all share them :) The birds can’t get to them anyway, they’re in the birdnet cage.

I wouldn’t have thought so, Pepe. We’ll see!
20 cents says they are.
still a crop under that birdnetting can probably be protected with clear plastic.
OK Pepe, you’re on ! 20 cents it is. Living on the edge, aren’t we ?? LOL

I’ve just dug up the 2 leeks, they were good ones :) Now in a big pot with bacon bones, mixed vegies, celery and soup mix beans. It smells sooooooo nice.

i lived my life believing the only frost hardy beans are broad beans – so its worth that princely sum to be proved wrong.
