Hi everyone. Unfortunately the time has come…

We’ll be closing this version of the forums to new messages on Monday April 23, sometime around Noon AEST.

You’ll still be able to read the existing messages and threads for a few more months, but you should use the opportunity to archive any material you are interested in.

(The ABC will retain a complete archive of all of the messages, but not in a form readily accessible to the public).

The forums will continue at the new address

using new software powered by vBulletin. The new software has quite a different look and feel, but has the advantage that it has an interface suitable for smart phones, and the capability to integrate with social media tools such as facebook. (The social media features are not yet activated).

Thanks for the very many interesting discussions over all of these years. We hope they will continue in the new format.

it won’t really matter… the lab.. um I mean we will clean up all the chat posts and just leave archives suitable for the public to read. And at some point in the future, someone will come along and turn that off too.

Since the forums community hasn’t yet fully settled into one place or the other, I’ve made one (two, actually, to keep the icons in balance!) more combination(s) of the HyperForum with cb88’s Holiday Forum plus the three unofficial official ones. These are at:

When changing between viewing threads at the Holiday forum and the abcforums.com ones, you’ll need to click on one of the relevant forums’ chat/goodnight/etc. icons in the top frame first, or modern browsers will send the post to a new tab rather than the main central(ish) frame of the HyperForum.
