I know you can have optical illusions, but can you have audible illusions? I have 2 battery powered alarm clocks and they don’t tick and tock together, but the quiter of the two always seems to be heard before the other one, but over about a 24 hour period there is a short time frame where they both tick and tock simultaneously, they then drift apart again, but why should the quieter of the two be heard before the other one?

They’re not keeping perfect time.

Could be but I can stand infront of them both and swap their positions and it doesn’t alter the effect.

D A true, and over about 12 hours there is a short period of time when they are in lock step, but this doesn’t last long.
