The Holiday Forum is like the SSSForum used to be back in the “Good Old Days”, when we had a good mix of content, and we were more tolerant than we are now of the odd “Village Idiot”.
Can we up the science/ technical content of this Forum? as I find the new arrangements over there>>>>
less user friendly than the old SSSForum, and this Forum?

I’ve posted various science threads which inspired very little response, but I’ll keep on posting them when I can think of topics, or come across interesting science news.

I don’t really have any issues with it, but clearly it’s an unsatisfying experience for many posters, judging by the lack of traffic it is getting. Not sure why more people haven’t migrated over here. Do we stinkify or sumfink?

I don’t mind it bob. It is clunky on my satellite connection. 5 seconds to refresh, but I have got used to that and it will speed up when I get the new connection. I like this place too and am glad that it is running and has a following.
i don’t mind the new site either, but then i have been using similar for years anyway. i like the, sometimes, instant deletion of posts that are purely posted to inflame.

The punishment needs to be more severe, IMO. I recommend tar and feathers with public humiliation in some well-located stocks.

The other thing is, the mods can explain to the moddee why their post was deleted or why action was taken.

the lab could do that on the old forum, they just choose not to and go the secret squirrel route. and that is what got up peoples noses.

ok ok i know this sounds crazy but what we could do is kidnap dr karl and bring him to this forum.
after a few weeks after stockholm syndrome has set in and karl finally sees the righteousness of our cause he could help us to kidnap other notable scientists and b grade personalities that wouldn’t be missed and get them posting here too. then, then we could strap down a 1000 of these people and perform our piece de resistance in our programme of getting more science content here and genetically modify them to become our army of flying monkeys to spread word of our mission.
