Afternoon All
Have spent the day up at Harajuku, a fascinating place.
First we visited the Meiji Shrine, this is the Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken. Being Sunday we were able to witness a couple of very traditional weddings taking place, not the actual ceremony but the procession line to the photo area, lots of pomp and ceremony with Kimonos everywhere :)
Then it was onto the bridge to seek out the Harajuku girls all dressed in their finery, Gothic & Sweet Lolita appear to be the theme. Some great photo moments in the camera at present. After lunch we found Yoyogi Park and it’s rockabilly gangs, complete with poodle skirts and Elvis-inspired pompadours :)
The only thing I would change about today is my feet…. they are soooooooo sore but I guess once I see our fabulous photos it will be all worth it..
We still have a full day in Japan tomorrow but do need to be at the airport by 4pmish, still time to look around :D
