give tax cuts to people who build a shed in their yard

this creates employment

make council charges for shed building permits zero

now watch as the construction industry goes from zero to hero

To every complex problem will be a simple solution that will most probably be wrong.

make TAFE / training industry AND UNIVERSITY fees tax dedcuctible

you’ll be amazed at how people will be hammering the doors down of education insitutions

then the education and training industry explodes

unlocking superannuation has already been mooted “experts”

people need that money now to live in their own home

not lounging around for super companies to feed off

it makes the construction industry strong in perpetuity rather than being a boom and bust cycle

Wait, get HECS tax-deductible or if you pay them outright?

i’m not sure if that happens already

but why not??

personally i’m not a big fan of people paying money to get a tafe/university education

for the moment it can be tax deductible but inthe future anyone wanting to study should receive free education (on the proviso that they do community work or other work in spare time)

the rich would get tax deductibility on their uni fees

the poor could get free education as long as they do community work in their spare time (or they can do private work that is taxable – their choice)

the problem is that the government does a very poor job of determining who is rich and who is poor.

Surely that’s not the only problem with Wookie’s ideas?

I’d like to see TAFE courses being free for those on the dole, like they once were. Nowadays you have to pay outright.

There’s lots of people for whom they are free or almost free. Millions, maybe. The whole industry needs a serious kick in the bum for not making this information available.

I’d like to see at least one training and workforce development specialist position created at every training organisation to make sure that people get all the information they need before they enrol.
