when I grow garlic VG I pretty well much leave them alone apart from water and weeding. And they don’t really need a lot of water but they will be small if they don’t get enough (but still tasty.)

In spring when the tops start to brown off, but not completely, is when I pull them up. I then plait them together by the leaves and hang in a shady place for them to dry out completely.

Not sure if all areas are the same or what around OZ land…

I plant my garlic out in March around the 17th and harvest towards the end of the year.
