Hi Buffy
What can you tell me about diplopia?

In my right eye only, started a couple of days ago, came good for a day now yesturday and today its back.
Seems to be worse early morning after getting up, then improves slightly as the day progresses.
It makes reading quite difficult, images is offset diagonally.
Covering my right eye, vision in my left eye is clear and focused.

Has happened before about a year ago and lasted for a week or two then came good.
I think I have slight astigmatism in my right eye as well, but that doesn’t really cause me any bother

I don’t wear glasses or contacts, age 46

I have had a problem with “dry eyes” for about 6yrs, have been stressed lately and sleep problems

Guess….you’ve been lying on your right side, with your eye into the pillow and you’ve squashed your cornea out of shape. It then springs back into place. It’s normal for your vision to be a bit iffy/foggy for 15-20 minutes after waking anyway as the cornea swells under the closed lid and then the Wonderful Chemical Pumps have to get rid of the excess fluid. But if this is one eye only, I’d go with the squished eye theory.

But I still advise a checkup, just in case.

It’s described as a problem in one eye only poikilotherm. Mostly effects of medication affect both eyes (as I tell the patients, both your eyes just happen to be in the same body!)

Many case reports of unilateral ADRs due to drugs. Confirmed on rechallenge. Rare though.

Well, I had my optometrist appointment this arvo….so far, inconclusive as to the cause of the double vision in my right eye.
Symptom has improved slightly today though.

He was quite thorough with his examination. He wants to do another test with some machine but they tried to get me to buy some prescription reading glasses first hehehe
which I could benefit from for sure, price starting from $230 (frames & lenses)…will get back to that over the next few weeks checks budget

Vision in my right eye (the one with double vision) is a little weaker than the left.
The right eye seems to be improving slowly….feedback as above and eyes in generally good health it seems

shrug

That’s good aquila.

I need to get myself to an optometrist.

How much was the initial consultation?
