Basically the advice my GP gave me a few years ago.

My dad was in hospital having some sort of prostate procedure (can’t remember what) when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which of course proved far more serious.
Similarly, breast cancer screening also has high morbidity that in otherwise well women means it’s not necessarily worthwhile.
A radio report today talked of finding Epstein-Barr and HPV in prostate cancer samples. These are very common anyway, and there is not enough evidence to draw any conclusions, but some speculation that the two might be acting together to cause prostate cancer.
