Seems I broke the Limpix Thread by posting black text on a back background – view full thread now has all of the following posts in black too.

Just testing if this happens again … in the next post.

I have gone back to tests every two weeks. It was once a month. Recent bouts of pneumonia gets the potassium elevated and pink pee from bleeding kidneys.

Geez, mate, that makes me feel very lucky that all I have to worry about is a bit of anaemia and a lack of IgG. The test I was talking about is one of those fasting things for my cardywallygist that I have put off too many times over past weeks. Then I gotta have another in a couple of weeks for Dr Mark – more fancy things to be tested for like serum EPO and stuff.

None of it for any of us (forumites that is) is fun. I am due for a new computer and this time it will be a laptap. Stays in hospital are a predictable feature of my future so be nice to take along some entertainment. Otherwise I need to take a library with me.

You’ll have to invest in a satellite wireless modem too.

A little laptop is handy in hospital, as I discovered thanks to the crazy bruddy forumites.

That is what inspired me. Plus I can load up some games.

The Wirgin mobile broadband thingy that KO set up for me worked pretty well, except for about 45 minutes after the city offices (hospital was on edge of CBD) released their hordes who immediately clogged up the mobile phone system.

Nope. Don’t worry they are cheap as. It’s just a little dongle to plug into a USB port.

Check first – maybe the hospital has WiFi or wireless network you can hook into. (When looking at motels recently, I was pleasantly surprised to see that many offer free WiFi, and others have pay-for-use WiFi.

I would check the reception at your place, on the same hardware, first. Australian telcos seem to have no hesitation in selling a service you can never use.

Yea, even the coverage maps are crappy on their websites.

We have a Optarse mobile phone, which only works in certain areas of the house (I had mobile broadband which was ok depending on the time of day and where you sat), and a Tel$tra mobile, which is better but has some dud spots. we are ‘in town’ so to speak.

get good mobile coverage here and can just about see the tower from the front verandah. phone is 4 bars. and telstra has done reception checks as well and they came back excellent.

Oooh, it’s cold already now, I think we’re in for a really cold night/morning, it’s good though because it makes luxuriating in a hot shower all the more enjoyable.

For gawds sake, man. Don’t you realise that Brisbane’s dams will never be full again?
