I have a female friend in her early 70’s too who had a similar experience yesterday. Be warned this fart by-passes all of the early warning systems.

Water in the short term. If the squirts carry on too long, get some oral rehydration stuff (Gastrolyte or similar) from the pharmacy. Sports drinks might be a bit too ‘hefty’. Or make up a solution yourself of one liter of plain water with 3 grams table salt (one level teaspoonful) and 18 grams common sugar (three tablespoons).
