Subject: The Carbon Tax Is Working

I’ll have to eat some humble pie, yes I was one of those who was sceptical that the carbon tax would work, I thought it was just another piece of political symbolism to appease tree huggers, I thought that the only ones who thought the carbon tax would work were the ideologues and those feeble of mind, but when you see vast swathes of Australia covered in snow just days out from Christmas you realise just how effective this tax has been and how wrong I was about it.

I remember seeing all the Labor politicians cheering and hugging and kissing and legrooting and I thought at the time it was just the Labor Party celebrating another broken election promise but it was more than that this time, they were celebrating something that was going to work, something that has delivered a sunlit upland of coolness accross the land and that all Australians, when touched as surlely they will be by the better angels of their nature, will say Bravo!!!, going forward, together.

The expression derives from umble pie, which was a pie filled with the chopped or minced parts of a beast’s ‘pluck’ – the heart, liver, lungs or ‘lights’ and kidneys, especially of deer but often other meats. Umble evolved from numble, (after the French nomble) meaning ‘deer’s innards’.

It has occasionally been suggested that ‘umbles’ were considered inferior food and that in medieval times the pie was often served to lower-class people, possibly following speculation in Brewer’s Dictionary of Phrase and Fable but there is little evidence for this. Early references in cookbooks such as Liber Cure Cocorum present a grand dish with exotic spices.

wiki humble pie.

make sure you have a nice cup of tea with that.

it’s funny how you don’t hear much about the tax now. must not be as bad as it was painted. otherwise surely the headlines everyday would be highlighting some new frightening aspect.

isn’t that like GST as well?
income tax
cigarette tax
alcohol tax
car registration going up

its a death by a 1000 taxes

the carbon tax is only one tax imposed on a myriad of others

and what do they do with this carbon tax, build a solar thermal plant to generate power? NO

its used to grow more problems in society

if they used the carbon tax to actually build renewable plants i’d have no problems with it

even if they used it to buy solar panels manufactured entirely over here from the research they have spent money on it would least create employment and actually do something.

the real problem stems from the fact that people are turning up to vote and not showing any form of ID

we don’t get the government we deserve because we can’t get rid of the people riding into power on the back of fraudulent voting

you show no ID to vote

you can vote multiple times

these people are the end of the line to try and get them to bring in showing ID, its never been done, the gov doesn’t need to bring any law to make sure an election is held fairly, the committee can only address issues AFTER the fact of the election so the situation gets worse.

if governements came in on the back of a vote where only one man could vote only once then the country wouldn’t be plagued with idiots in parliament. they couldn’t rely on perhaps 5000 votes swinging the vote for them.

there are NO controls to make sure that when someone votes they are actually eligible to vote!!! and i mean NONE!!

so you get a situation where a government comes into power on the back on fraudulent voting and we will never be able to vote for them. its why QLD had a massive swing against labor because its instinctively understood that this is the only way you’ll get rid of them – no one asks why the massive swing is needed – essentially its to nullify the fraudulent voting. the hard core of people mulitipe voting can’t vote enough times to stop the electorate getting rid of them.
