Subject: Plastic spoon as photo multiplier?

Hi folks I was given a small plastic spoon to eat an icecream with, and it seems to act as a passive photon multiplier, has anyone else experienced this? &/or have an explanation for this?

Spoon sitting in empty container in a shaded spot, outer edges of spoon are glowing as if they were internally illuminated by electric current.
